Did anyone else see if Justin Timberlake pulled off Janet Jackson's top?

The commercials and the half-time show were all-time lows. At least it was a great game after the first 25 minutes.

"That being said, we haven't heard from her yet, Justin has gotten grabby on stage before, MTV's playing this up (at this point) on their website, and I would have hoped if she had planned this out she'd come up with a more flattering presentation. :-)"

Actually, Justin is probably crying on the phone to his mom--he tends to do that when he gets in trouble or does something really stupid.

I was watching an episode of Punked a semester or two ago, and Kutcher sent people to cart of Timberlake's belongings, pretending to be from the IRS. Timberlake started whimpering and called, not his lawyer, but his Mom! What a baby.

kristinn, of course you are.

You are saying since I'm not ready to begin wringing my hands in outrage and disgust over the sight of a female breast, that somehow I'm saying it's OK to show the Dallas Cheerleaders doing the wedding night shuffle on a stable full of racing ponies.

However, by the very nature of your descriptives, whether you like it or not, you are equating the two...

You're dodging the question. What are your standards?

Um, I am freaked out? LOL

I am disgusted, dismayed, saddened. But not freaked out. I have to pay my property taxes next week. THAT'S when I will be freaked out! : )

I thought that a discussion about performers who exposed themselves to children on national television was allowed in this conservative forum. Apparently I am not the only citizen of this country who feels that nudity is natural, but it's not natural in the middle of the Superbowl.

Sorry that you feel fortunate that your kids saw Janet Jackson's breast.

The point is it wasn't an "accident".

It was done on purpose.

An accident actually would have been funny (IMO).

To do it on purpose is an entirely different matter and you know that.

Timberlake said he did not intend to expose Jackson's breast.

What was he intending to do, then? And why, if it were an accident, did he continue to sing (well, lip-synch) WHILE HOLDING THE BRA CUP?

"Oh, but Valentine, it is. And since you decided to jump in, it was obviously valid enough of a debating point for you to insist I follow it."

Well maybe I honestly wanted to hear from your opinion. Tell me, where do you draw the line for what is appropriate on primetime network television? Where should the obscenity line be drawn? Boobage? Soft-core sex scenes? Hard core kinky stuff?

'Sorry that you feel fortunate that your kids saw Janet Jackson's breast.'

If they'd have seen it ten years ago, they'd be more fortunate. (;

My standards are I really couldn't care less about Janet Jackson's Breast being seen.

I Don't find anything at all offensive about the sight of a woman's breast, whether that be a painting, a statue, or heaven forbid, on a TV screen.

Do I think we should have full blown sex acts on TV?

No. Why? Because the very idea of seeing Rosanne Barr, or even you kristinn in the act of sex is enough to make my eyes explode....

NOW, let's get back to your obvious equation of a single female breast and cheerleader beastility....

The close-up on the drudge site shows that the costume had snaps holding the cup in place. It was designed to come apart.

Right you are. Make that point number 10 in the formal complaint.

Again, any takers for filing such a formal complaint and report to the police? Especially of freepers whose kids witnessed the stunt.

Holy cow, you've nailed it. Janet got PUNK'D!

I just can't wait for someone to come out and try to explain this. 'Warddrobe malfunction' just isn't going to cut it.

That doesn't look like the one in the other pic so maybe it really was a flag. Don't see the grommets others mentioned though the edge seems pretty ragged. If he is as supportive of the troops as others have posted, he will probably issue an apology. Watching it on TV, I couldn't tell the difference.

Pretty appalled at the halftime as whole. A group of families from our church, including the associate pastor and his family were having a party. I think most of the younger kids were outside playing but that still doesn't make it OK.

Think about it, what would it have looked like if he had tried to slap that puppy right back on there? We'd have fondling charges!!

Geez, the woman's boob pops out and you're acting like it's the downfall of western civilization...

Yeah, it just popped out, all right. What turnip truck did you fall off of?

I didn't watch the SuperBowl, but if they are gonna start showing boobs at half-time, I may tune in next year.

Again, Valentine. For your question, or kristinn's to have any merit in this debate it to equate a slipped breat with Soft or hard core sex on stage.

Clearly, that is not at all what happened, in spite of some insistnance around here that they are one and the same.

I don't find women's breasts offensive. So shoot me...

In this case, I don't see what all the bruhaha is about. People are running about, knashing their teeth, squeeling about the downfall of western civilization over the sight of a single black female breast.

Now the idea of compairing this to cheerleaders humping horses, even for kristinn, is so way over the top, how does one respond?

Okay. No sex acts on network TV, but toplessness is okay. Now, should your standard for allowing toplessness be forced on children and older folks whose morals are opposed to it? Or should we just keep it to HBO, Showtime, etc.?
