Thanks for the response and I'm glad to see you state it is your opinion as initially you came across as knowing what you stated as fact.

Who do you think these counterfeit conservatives are and can you point me to any information to bolster your claim? I'm not being sarcastic here as I am genuinely interested in pursuing this.

when I see things that are a bit nutty and off the beaten path, well, I like to chime in.

Well, since this is also a political issue, I am sure you are all interested in Alan Keyes' assessment of the threat of terrorism and other issues -- posted by Jim Robinson.

I highly recommend reading the entire transcript of H&C's interview with Dr. Alan Keyes.

Alan Keyes comes out in support of President Bush, denounces Democrats, "our survival is at stake!"

COLMES: We continue with Alan Keyes. Ambassador Keyes, as a fiscal conservative, as a true conservative yourself, do you have some problems with the spending of this administration?

KEYES: Oh, I sure do--and I wouldn't want to give the impression that I don't have other problems with this administration on some areas where I think that the president has fallen short of the kinds of things that I really think are needed in some areas.

But I also wouldn't want to give the impression that I think that anything can be more decisive for the American people right now than the question of our national survival in the face of the most insidious threat this nation has ever faced.

In the face of that, I think a lot of us are going to be putting our other issues behind those issues that have to do with the survival of this nation in wartime.

Another very good and well thought out post. And I agree with your theory.

Thanks CJ

I found the post I was talking about:

i want to give every one here a chance to look at real men, something that most of the women in america have never seen like. and when men see him they envey him and wish to god that they could be one day just like him.

to people that know whom i am talking about then you know what i meant in what i wrote.

but to people who have no clue i invite you to a closer look at the life and death of (the sword of Islam).

ps. to be able to show you that i need some one here from the readers who has the tec to send me (PM) a site or a link where i can upload for you all his life story, its a 2 houre movie, that will change alot of things in your life i promise you, and might be the light that might pull you out of the dark cave your living in.

Well, I will apologize for being pithy when I get an admission from someone, anyone, that there is some nutty stuff posted here, and that virtually every dire prediction has been wrong.

Now, I know that eventually something bad will happen. These AQ folks really hate us. But, I am sure everyone will be here to say, "I told you so." That would be like the Bears who predicted every year from 1994 that "a bear market was coming." Well, of course it was coming. It always comes.

The AQ stuff is one thing, but this whole Russian conspiracy thing is so bizarre, it not only discredits the thread, but it discredits the site. It's nutty.

Here is trial work 101. Put a man on the stand and discredit his credibility on ANYTHING, and the jury will believe him on nothing.

Like I said, piecing together Islamic web posts is one thing. Looking for clues and connections to stories and events, that's fine. (Though I have posted that we would all be doing a better job merely keeping our eyes open for oddities in our own neighborhoods). But some of this old communist stuff. Get real.

If we want to really help homeland security, let's be vigilant where we live. No one knows his or her own neighborhood better than us. That's where we are useful.

The people sifting through raw intelligence data that have the training, the expertise, and the access to data we can't even dream-up, do not have websites, nor do they post conclusions or analysis on the web. They don't do it.

Powdery Envelopes Prompt Postal Scares

By Lindsay Faber and Pete Bowles
Staff Writers

February 3, 2004, 11:16 PM EST

Three envelopes containing white powder that turned out to be harmless were discovered yesterday at three U.S. Postal facilities in New York — one in Brooklyn and two in Manhattan — authorities said.

The substances were found by employees at the Rugby Post Office at 726 Utica Ave. in Brooklyn, the Morgan Processing and Distribution Center on Ninth Avenue near 30th Street in Manhattan and the historic Farley Post Office building on Eighth Avenue between 31st and 33rd streets.

Chemical tests conducted by the New York Police Department and the Department of Environmental Protection determined that the powder found in Brooklyn was coffee creamer, the Morgan center's was Sheetrock dust and the Farley building's appeared to be a "simple household product," said Tom Boyle, a postal inspector.

The Brooklyn plant, in East Flatbush, was evacuated about 9 a.m. after an employee said she had been exposed to a white powder, Boyle said.

The Manhattan buildings, where powdery substances were found about 5:30 p.m., were not evacuated because the powder was contained in small rooms with only a few employees, Boyle said.

About six workers in the two buildings came in contact with the substances and were quarantined, evaluated and interviewed before being released about 6:30 p.m., Boyle said.

Boyle said strange substances are often found at postal facilities but are usually quickly identified by telephone calls to mailers.

"In these cases we were not able to do that," he said. "Clearly we are more on alert because of what's going on in Washington and Connecticut."

"The public should have absolutely no concern," Boyle said of the three incidents

You're laughing, but that was one of the primary "facts" that lead to the conclusion that OBL had been captured. That was posted both here and on the website.

The place is located in a very scrummy neighborhood.

A local Atlanta tv station just reported the powder found at the Fulton Industrial bulk mail facility tested negative for any dangerous substances.

That facility isn't far from my job or MHKing's house, at all.
Real close to Six Flags.

Sean:
What we have is evidence of the capture.

We have as evidence the original, unsolicited call to the NEIN Director from an individual at an "agency in Virginia", and subsequent "confirmations" that the event did indeed occur. There are also the subsequent events and statements which have been analyzed and found to be consistent with the information about OBL's capture.

Now what I do not get is:

Why Sean has this intel? Even if he does have valid source's then why and how can he post this. I see what people are saying as it being hard to believe or understand. And how can Sean know this and yet the other people who also have 'sources on intel' are not publicizing it?

There is nothing wrong bringing up a point, just as long as it's done diplomatically.

You are not omniscient, neither is anyone else posting here that I know of, and most of us don't claim to be either. ;)

I think that claiming that just because an attack didn't happen, means there wasn't one planned is an inaccurate conclusion. It is a possibility, but considering the various sources, and the actual actions the administration took, that we know of, and much we don't, would indicate that it is much more likely, that attacks were planned and foiled. Thank God!

As for Russia -- we have pretty strong evidence that Russia has been supporting Saddam, quite possibly using him as proxy against the US. However, my personal opinion is that while that was true in the past -- there is too much evidence to ignore it -- in the present Putin reassessed the situation, and is no longer supporting countries against us.

Russians aren't fully on board with us, but they are also not actively working against us. Frankly, I think we can trust the Russians more than we can trust the French.
