I'm just wondering why this behavior surprised anyone? Taken by itself, I'd say it wasn't so bizarre. I think what happened was those on the verge of realizing how dangerous he might be in the Whitehouse (i.e. pulling back on the war on terror) suddenly understood how impulsive he really was. But we on FR knew that from the start of his wacky campaign.

It's been dubbed the "I Have a Scream" speech, delivered on of all days the Martin Luther King holiday. Holy cow - That sounds pretty damaging
They might want to stick a fork in Dean - he seems to be 'done'
To: kattracks
The Powers That Be have clearly decided that Dean is a liability. All the power of Big Media is focused on getting rid of Howard as fast as possible so that some other Democrat becomes a clear favorite. If Dean stays in, he may recover and muddy the water. The big boys don't want to risk that, so they are thoroughly killing him.
Pity.

The first time I heard him scream I thought "Dear God, someone has smashed his testicles flat on a hot stove-top"...
Painful to listen to, but at least he has entered US political history (just not the way he hoped).

That may be but Dean destroyed himself. As a FReeper said above, we (at this site) have known about it for awhile. Dean IS nuts. We don't need the Clinton machine to tell us that.
To: ClearCase_guy
It is a pity, but you have to admit, Dean gave them all the ammunition they needed, and more.
Of course, Clark has said enough to also be targeted by the media, but they're not about to go after him the way they did Dean. Some low people in high places might not like that.
To: kattracks
The only thing that could have topped of the scream would have been if Dean had started firing a rifle in the air like Saddam use to do...

It's a pity he peaked so early. A full year of this goon would have been so much fun! I have posted more caption pics of Howard Dean than any other subject by far. He just lends himself to ridicule.

I thought some cowboy had jumped up on the stage and branded him with a Crazy D branding iron.
To: kattracks
He should have used it before the primary. Hog-calling is a big thing out there and I'm sure it would have summoned a lot of leftist Iowa DemoCrats.
