Checking in late, so this has probably been mentioned a few hundred times, but on CNN Radio, which was the only feed I could get in the car, the announcer is INTERRUPTING DURING THE SPEECH to note when "just the Republicans are applauding" or "no Democrats are applauding" or "both Republicans and Democrats are applauding." Never heard this sort of behavior before; don't really want to hear it again.

Our President is doing very well tonight. I'm genuinely proud of him...very proud.

Hey My Fav, I agree, wtf?!?!
To: All
His mistake on "Age 2" "Age 10" is only going to be an issue to those who already hate Bush and would never think of voting for him.

Including "faith-based organizations"...would that include, say, the Nation of Islam? I'm going to start a "faith-based org" and get on the gravy train!!!
Well, no, but many others will.

Do you support free and fair trade or do you want the government to tell businesses who they can hire, who they can subcontract to, etc. That's pretty close to the minority hiring and contract awards in place now. More of that?
Yes, it sucks that jobs are going overseas to where they are cheaper, more profitable. We have to do it better and more cheaply - or lose it. That's the way free trade works. -------------------------------------------------------------
The president mentioned retraining, you want to retrain professionals with many years of experience, with masters and Phds because they can't compete with people that make 1/10th of their salary?
President mentioned biotech. You do know that these jobs can be done more cheaply overseas right? Have you visited a university lately, I have, my Masters degree I could count the US citizens with one hand (actually half a hand).
Why don't we just export the executives and CEOs of these companies, I'm sure their jobs can be done more cheaply overseas. Heck, might as well make move the HQs of these companies, HP could very well do their job in India rather than the US. That's where we are heading anyways.

It's amazing how the lock-step crowd is incapable of anything but extremes.

Well seeing as how he tricked the Dems into embarrassing themselves, and has continually hit home runs out of the park with this speech, I'd say he definitely has a clue. And I'm not about to ignore the numerous conservative lines in the sand he has drawn tonight to carp on a single issue.Oh, I agree. So far, it's his best speach ever. I have a bit of a problem with that temporary worker issue, but that's a minor quibble. I'm just sorta reacting on the fly.
Put it this way: He's batting about .975. I certainly don't want to come across as churlish.

This seems like more than 46 minutes. Yeah. I guess I'll be late to orchestra tonight.
