Distressing Development in Terri's Case

This document is titled "Petition to Modify Visitation Rules" and was filed on behalf of Michael Schiavo by attorney Deborah Bushnell. The language in this document has caused tremendous concern.

Part 1, Paragraph 5: "When the ward is in the hospital, petitioner should be permitted to more strictly regulate the ward's visitors in order to accommodate the need for hospital personnel to administer medication and treatments unimpeded."

Does this language mean to say that Terri's immediate family will no longer be able to visit or see her should she become hospitalized?

Part 2, Paragraph 7: "Visitors are prohibited from evaluating, examining, treating or testing the ward, or causing the ward to be evaluated, examined, treated or tested by any physician, therapist or other person without prior Court approval.

Does this language mean that Terri's family can no longer ask for assistance if she suffers a medical complication or event?

Part 2, Paragraph 8: "Visitors are prohibited from introducing or causing to be introduced any object, matter or substance of any kind, whether liquid, solid or medicinal, orally or in any other manner to the ward."

Withholding oral sustenance when an individual is capable of accepting it is abuse and a deliberate act of omission under Florida Statute 415.102.

Part 2, Paragraph 13: "Visitors may be restricted from the facility if such visitors violate these visitation rules and conditions in any manner."

Does this language mean that Terri's immediate family can be barred from seeing her at the instructions of her husband/guardian at any time?

I truly believe this is a spiritual battle-of immense proportions and consequence.

So do I. I used to think it was mostly about having Michael's initial crime go undisclosed. Now I believe it is that PLUS precedent-setting so as to faster dispatch all those in God's waiting room (FL), not having to worry about silly things like hydration and assisted feeding or assisted anything. (Don't get sick, but if you do, stay home. Esp. if you live in FL and aren't on good terms with the person who will be making med. decisions concerning you,\.)

On the surface it looks like there's a hidden network of people all working to promote...death. (Please look up my Scripture verse in my tagline.) So, anyway, Michael hopes he'll be richly rewarded by these snakes, that is, if he isn't double-crossed.

Apparently, Bushnell is very anxious to have this amended order approved by the court

Dr. Cranford’s published definition of the Persistent Vegetative State differs substantially from Florida law. Court transcripts show that Judge George Greer used Dr. Cranford’s definition in assessing Terri, rather than Florida’s stricter definition.


Conclusion 1 - 3 There is no definitive neurological test for PVS.
Conclusion 1 - 4 There is no neurological test which will determine PVS patient consciousness.
Conclusion 1 - 5 In relation to the problem of PVS patient consciousness, medical practice has assumed that Consciousness IN = Consciousness B. Furthermore it has used the ‘reflex test’ as the criterion for establishing Consciousness B.
In recovery, if Terri improves, PVS is invalidated
Karen Quinlan’s case was the first case involving PVS to come before the US courts. Her breathing had been sustained by a respirator and the court application was for permission to remove the respirator. This the court permitted. However, on the removal of the respirator, Karen Quinlan did not die but continued to breath, unaided. She survived for a further 10 years in a PVS. She died in 1985 of acute pneumonia. Antibiotics had not been given to treat the pneumonia.

What kind of national campaign is taking place through the 'volunteer' Schindler Foundation media people ( or is it person ) to rally an outcry against this latest example of inhuman violence against Terri Schindler-Schiavo?

Do we have an update on when this will be heard?

Do I understand correctly that if this petition is granted, it will take effect immediately?

If this is granted, what immediate recourse does Terri's family have to keep from being shut out completely?

In fact, Terri's family was already shut out completely when she was admitted for rehydration in October -- they had no idea how she was, what was being done. And we know that Michael and Felos behaved despicably at that time -- the family was allowed in to visit only AFTER Terri had been released -- but the family had no idea of that! nor did they know where or how Terri was for HOURS after that!

We know Terri's admission for rehydration was delayed for hours even after Gov. Bush signed 'Terri's bill' that was passed by the majority of the FL house and senate. But at least did the EMT's start an IV immediately in Terri? Or not?

Prayers continue for Terri & her family & her angels.
