4 illegal aliens gang-rape woman in NYC

Four illegal aliens were among the five men who brutally gang-raped a New York City woman.

The woman described her ordeal in a scathing letter to state Supreme Court Justice Randall Eng, saying the men carried out their attack like "a pack of wild wolves in search of their prey."

"They punched me so hard that I was knocked to the floor," the 43-year-old victim wrote before Eng sentenced one of her attackers Thursday, Victor Cruz, to 21 years in prison, the New York Post reported.

"They savagely dragged me like an animal, like a piece of furniture, and took me to a secluded area of the park, a hut, a foul place that smelled so bad that not even animals should be made to be there, where I was brutally and repeatedly raped by five or more men," she said of the Dec. 19, 2002 attack.

The New York paper said Cruz, Luis Carmona, Carlos Rodriguez, Armando Juvenal and José Hernandez pleaded guilty in December to rape and kidnapping charges in exchange for sentences of 20 to 23 years.

"This is a crime that can only be described as one of blood-chilling inhumanity," Eng told Cruz, 22, who apologized to the woman, according to the Post.

All of the attackers, except Carmona, were in the United States illegally, the New York daily said, which prompted criticism from groups who charge the Immigration and Naturalization Service consistently fails to deport dangerous illegals.

The victim, a mother of two, said she is afraid to go out, has nightmares and is unable to sleep.

"I feel depressed and sad most of the time, and cannot even perform simple activities a lot of times," she wrote.

The attack took place in Queens at 9:30 p.m. on a walkway connecting the National Tennis Center to Shea Stadium.

According to the New York Daily News, she was sitting on a bench with her boyfriend after a dinner date when suddenly they were surrounded by about nine men who "acted like a pack of wild wolves," grabbing her while they punched and kicked her 37-year-old boyfriend.

She was dragged to a shantytown along the Long Island Rail Road tracks where at least three of the men lived and was sexually tortured for three hours before being rescued by police, the Daily News said.

Juvenal, Carmona and Rodriguez are to be sentenced next Thursday. Hernandez will undergo a psychiatric exam and be sentenced next month.

The victim is suing the city and the Metropolitan Transit Authority for $50 million

In a brief statement, Cruz apologized for the attack.

"I hope she will one day be able to overcome this nightmare," he said

I thought Lord Bush said that illegals were the victims of crime, not the perpetrators.

Obviously this article is anti-Bush propaganda by "deconstructionists". /sarcasm

"Let these filthy serve their time in Crawford Texas on a release time program."

That would be my solution. I am so sick of the elitists in this country "knowing" what is better for the rest of us. Perhaps if they were exposed to what we non-elisits have to face....

Would the crime have been any less outrageous if a bunch of U.S. citizens would have committed it?

Actually yes. The women isn't any more or less brutalized, but her brutalization was possible because of the insane and preventable situation that allowed these jackals to get at her.

It is more outrageous when it could be easily stopped. We're not protecting our women and our society, so it magnifies the outrage. The answer to your question is a resounding YES.

Gee, I don't know. Ask the victim how she feels about the fact that her rapists were not met at the prison doors by INS agents and deported, as the LAW requires, long before they were ever allowed to meet up, built a rape-room on government property, and come looking for her.

That's why she is suing, and I hope she wins BIG.

It's really not proper to think of them as "illegal aliens". They probably just accidently overstayed their visits, or were simply deficient in understanding US entry requirements.

Besides, just think of the ways they probably contributed to our society before this unfortunate brush with the law.

Permit me a brief suggestion...

I believe I read one time, here on FR, a solution to many of our domestic crime problems and at the same time providing a way of bolstering a healthy foreign policy efforts by supporting Mexico's economy and reducing illegal immigration.

Since everyone is so in love with 'off-shore' sourcing of labor, manufacturing and resources, why not contract with Mexico to house our felony prisoners? The Mexican government could get the juicy $20-30K/prisoner budgets, the prisoners could be kept a long ways away in routinely inspected facilities and everyone could be happy. Well, everyone but the prisoners, of course.

I'm sure that there are certain things that the Mexican government would frown upon in prisoner conduct and, conceivably, there might be some reductions in the kind of 'freedoms' that American prisoners take for granted. But since felons lose their constitutional rights when convicted, what the heck.

It seems to me that this might also induce American criminals to reconsider criminal careers if they knew that they ran a chance of incarceration down Mexico's sunny way. Additionally, Mexican illegals that end up in the system might also be disappointed by an ignominious return to their homeland.

I don't know. Seems like a pretty good idea with as much sense as other schemes that are up and floating these days - maybe more.

If they were not here in the US, they would have been raping some woman in their own country. This crime would not have occurred.

What part of this do you not understand?

This article fails to mention that these rapist had been picked up before and charged with some crime and were in custody but I can't remember for what. This is why its important to deport these illegals when found. Usually the worst ones can't stay out of trouble.

Not just charged. Convicted of various felonies and sentenced. Even LEGAL immigrants can easily lose their resident status when that happens.

Someone once had the idea that they should be tatooed on the forehead and deported. Or would that be the mark of the beast? In either case, sure would cut down on recidivism.

I had thought so. This makes it even worse. The bleeding heart liberal mayors of NYC and other big cities that will not allow its police depts. to contact the INS over matters like this should all be ran out of office. Not that the INS or Homeland Security is doing its job either.

This stuff happens ALOT more than reported. The media seems to look the other way in allot of these crimes. In Calif. you have to find out word of mouth that illegals raped someone. It is either not reported, under reported or nationality is not given. I have tried to dig up rape records for Calif. with no luck. maybe someone else has the know how.
