Took a look at the USA TODAY's photos and I can't see where they show this to be a fake.

They should drop him off at the taxidermist shop and have the sob mounted. lol

An early news story about Saddam's capture stated he had made some insulting remark to a US soldier who struck him in reply. If the red is blood that may corroborate the story.

The photo from newsmax, showing the soldiers lifting Saddam out of his spider hole, the ground is flat, has a wood border, along with brick edging.
The USA today photos show a rough patch of ground, close to a large concrete pad, with very little clear space around the spider hole. The bricks don't look like they've been in a straight line for a long time, and a large palm tree is visible.
There are multiple solutions to these differences. 1) USA Today did not photograph where Saddam was recovered. 2) The Saddam photo is a fake. I'm leaning strongly towards 2, because to believe the first, I'd have to think that the Army PR machine purposefully took the USA Today people to a different but highly similar location, and I really don't like to think about conspiracies.

That troop will never have to pay for a beer if I'm in the same watering hole............too bad he "should" remain un-named for his own families security. I'm sure he can protect himself but mommy and the kiddies etc etc should'nt have to endure such. Bless em for what he did and continues to do !
Stay Safe !

I still don't see where the USA photos show this photo to be a fake.
Any differences you may see may have been caused by the photos being taken at different areas.

Here's another image with the guy who videotaped the capture...
I suppose I could be wrong, but there sure doesn't look like there's enough room on that dirt for all the people that are in the 'Saddam captured' photo. Or I could be making the wrong assumption, and in fact the photo on military.com is of Saddam
after he was captured and was put down on the ground elsewhere nearby.

Yeah, now that I look at more site pictures, it just has to be Saddam after he was pulled out of the hole and put down somewhere else for the photo, because that couldn't have been at the 'spider hole' itself.
Besides, the blurred out soldier sure looks like the guy who was doing the videotaping.

Looks like a boar taken hunter's photo over a freshly downed kill, don't it? Why like Yoda do talk you, heh?
To: kingu
Yeah, now that I look at more site pictures, it just has to be Saddam after he was pulled out of the hole and put down somewhere else for the photo,... I don't know if he was put down somewhere else just for that photo, or if he was down and they just took that photo.

If it pi**es-off the "Arab Street", I'm for it. And yes, in direct answer to your rhetorical question.
