Authorities Issue 'All Points Bulletin' For Woman

POSTED: 7:33 a.m. EST January 8, 2004

An "all points bulletin" has been issued for a woman who is believed to have taken military identification badges and some uniform items from Patrick Air Force Base, according to Channel 4's sister station in Orlando.

Officials said that guards at the main gate denied access to a woman who did not have proper identification to enter the base Tuesday.

Guards think the woman somehow got into the guard shack when they were distracted and stole some military ID cards and some uniform rain gear.

The woman and the items remain missing Thursday morning.

"The (bulletin) is meant to advise the owners and operators of the nation's infrastructures about the possible use by terrorists of official identification, uniforms, or vehicles to gain access to sensitive facilities for purposes of planning or carrying out...

On behalf of Uncle Sam, welcome to the Antartic research station. Please do not shoot the penguins on site. They are animals and not invaders. Also I would suggest the fur lined jock. You will need it.

Sincerely,
Uncle Sam

From what I heard, uh, no they are not. I heard that you don't do a lot of natural things outside. And when you're marching around that's a major league you know what.

It might be interesting to note that Patrick AFB is close to Cape Canaveral Air Force Station where the Titan, Atlas and Delta space launch vehicles are assembled and launched.

Can't send them there. There's *important* stuff to guard out there. Cobra Dane, which monitors Russian (and possibly Chinese?) Missle tests. Second them to the Navy and send them to Antartica.

Wonder if the were Air Police or civilian DoD guards? The latter would not surprise me.

Why's that? My recent experience at several different bases has been that the civilian guards are much more strict and wary.
