Bellows said Limbaugh, who recently completed treatment for addiction to prescription painkillers, recognizes that he may have purchased drugs illegally under Florida law and "certainly had more pills than he could ever use

Implying that he did not take all the pills he bought.

Hmmm... do I see an amnesty give-back, perhaps?

According to court documents, the investigation centers on whether Limbaugh engaged in "doctor shopping" -- getting multiple prescriptions from several doctors that he could not have received from just one. That is a criminal offense in Florida.

It would be interesting to know how many "doctor shopping" prosecutions have actually been pursued.

My bet is not many.

OK, where are the people who ranted that there was no way that Rush bought drugs illegally? And certainly nowhere near the amounts that were being discussed when this story first broke.

I hope Rush has managed to kick this habbit for good this time. He won't see any jail time for this. Neither should anyone else who ends up in his situation.

As we, liberals everywhere, try to stick it to Rush because of his efforts to conceal his medical records from public view, we must recognize the importance of avoiding any mention of the fact that Willie the Sleaze refused to make his medical records public at any time. Of course, he was most certainly concealing his coke addiction and the many STDs he had picked up (especially some from the coworkers of Danny Williams mom) while in Moscow and while in Little Rock. Willie was running for president, not just talking on the radio. The ultra-left wing media can be relied upon to not mention anything about Willie and what he was hiding, but let's see if we can keep others from mentioning it, as well.

All B.S.

If Rush was a liberal, this would not even be a question.

This is brought up by blatant hypocrical democrats that hold double standards.

Demo's are liars and hypocrites, period.

However, she said Limbaugh never intended to sell the drugs.

"He wants this thing to go away," she said. "He won't admit to anything he didn't do."

Doesn't matter if he intended to sell or not, does it?

I thought these WOD laws were based on the amount of drug seized. If its over a certain amount, you are automatically considered a dealer and dealt with much more harshly.

Of course Rush with his 24 million dollar mansion, 30(40..50??) million dollar contract and millions of adoring cult followers will escape any penalty of course.

This is a strange move on his lawyer's part.

Usually, you don't start discussing a plea bargain until a charge has actually been filed.

There's a reason he doesn't want those records public. More than just nobodies business.

What could have been an epiphany of conservative principle has devolved into an afflation of hypocrisy.

I feel bad for Rush, but he truly is the author of his own misfortune.

Limbaugh attorney asks judge to keep medical records private

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Rush Limbaugh was blackmailed by a former maid who later told law enforcement and a tabloid newspaper about his addiction to prescription painkillers, his attorney told a judge on Monday.

Attorney Roy Black said Limbaugh could not complain to authorities about the maid's demand for $4 million because they would use the information against him.

He argued that now prosecutors are attempting to discredit the conservative radio commentator by investigating whether Limbaugh went "doctor shopping" for prescription painkillers. Black said prosecutors violated his client's privacy when they seized medical records from his doctors in Florida and California.

But Palm Beach County prosecutors insist they need to review the records, which are sealed, to determine whether Limbaugh's doctors knew about his frequent prescriptions for painkillers, such as OxyContin and hydrocodone.

Assistant State Attorney James Martz said reviewing the records would be the only way to determine if Limbaugh withheld information from his doctors and if he violated the law.

Judge Jeffrey A. Winikoff did not say when he would decide whether the records should be unsealed.

Let's get real. This is a bunch of gossip and speculation from CNN, who would love to get rid of a major competitor.

The prosecutor is a left-wing, opportunistic politician. It's possible that Rush's lawyer wants to settle the matter just to get it over with, since it could continue harrassing Rush for a long time, regardless of the outcome. It's unlikely that the prosecutor could win a conviction.

From CNN it's prudent to require an actual quote that actually supports their characterization.

From the body of the article, the headline obviously means "Limbaugh lawyer discussing plea bargain " with CNN reporter LOL!

We'll see.

I heard a caller the other day ask Rush how his cat was doing since it had been attacked by another cat. He said he had never heard Rush mention how his cat was and just wanted to know. This incident with the cats took place sometime before we knew Rush's addiction and Rush had gone on and on about how he and Marta were dealing with the cats.

I had a feeling this person was fishing to see if Rush would mention Marta again in connection with the cats.

Rush just said his cat is doing just fine and that those other cats were just being baby sat. They were not his and they were back home now.

Still no mention of Marta.
