OK, where are the people who ranted that there was no way that Rush bought drugs illegally? And certainly nowhere near the amounts that were being discussed when this story first broke.
I hope Rush has managed to kick this habbit for good this time. He won't see any jail time for this. Neither should anyone else who ends up in his situation.
On the spirit of Christmas, please forgive and forget.
I'm really saddened having my suspicions confirmed.
I hope that the New Year will be a new beginning for Rush. Despite his faults, Rush was instrumental in my politics when in college, and he moved me to the right side of the issues through his rants.
In the early 1990s, the Internet was barely beginning in those days, (Al Gore was still working on it), so talk radio was a breath of fresh air.
Second, it is quite common for any user to try to acquire far more drugs than he can use and NOT sell them, precisely so as to have a "stash" if he can't get a prescription.
Third, I think the "doctor shopping" charge is ridiculous and is a bad law.
Fourth, I agree no one should see jail time for addiction to a pain med when there is a legitimate medical need. I do not equate this with use of horse or crack, however, and never will---or even X. Those offenses are worthy of jail time IMHO.
However, she said Limbaugh never intended to sell the drugs.
I'll have to remember that if I'm ever caught with a large amount of illegal drugs. "Intent to deliver? Oh my no, I never intended to sell them".
That one will play real well in courts all over the country. Not.
