WASHINGTON -- Some centrist Democrats may fret about front-runner Howard Dean's ability to match up to President Bush in a general election, but his college transcript sure could.
Bush, who graduated from Yale University in 1968, had a less-than-stellar record, with what the president described as "gentleman's Cs." Dean's transcript shows the political science major sailing through a slight sophomore slump to earn mostly high marks his last two years.
...
The transcript shows Howard Brush Dean III with a Park Avenue address and a course load reflective of those antiestablishment years. Dean took more than one class on Marxism and studied the "History of Soviet Union," "Soviet Foreign Policy," "International Communism" and "Chinese Politics."

All the Republicans have to do is match Bush's legislative victories in 4 years ... Those "victories" cost us a fortune, and not a single veto.

I took many courses at BC about the Soviet Union. But mine were entitled "Stalin- the tactis of terror", "Soviet expansionism and colonial rule", and "Soviet Dissidents- a wide political spectrum". I had the great luck to have a history department at BC that was not polluted with PC commies. Though one course on Soviet American relations was conducted by a total communist proffessor.

I believe Dean worked on Wall Street before returning to college to study medicine, which would lead me to think he was not pre-med at Yale.

I am not that old. I graduated in 92. (going back to school actually right now for a PHD in history). PC was pretty bad at BC when I was there already. But there were still professors who were - if not "conservative"- not total ideologues. I had a female creative writing proffessor that assigned very conservative writers like Flannery O'Connor and Doesteyevsky.
I even wrote a piece or two for the BC unofficial conservative paper- "The Observer". They used to steal entire stacks of our paper and throw them in dumpsters.
I am not sure of what political atmoshphere exists at BC today.

All we have here is the interpretation of his grades. I want to see the transcript with the actual grades. Place it up next to Bush's for a comparison. I think they are probably similar.
To: xrp
Bush, born 7/46, graduated from Yale University in 1968.
Dean, born 11/48, was a freshman in 1967.
Seems to be some time missing here...

A lot of notable Democrats were traipsing around the communist blocs during that era weren't they?
A short list:
1. Krinton
2. MLK
3. Dean
