WASHINGTON (AP) -- Former President Clinton praised the capture of Saddam Hussein and said the ousted Iraqi president finally will answer "for decades of tyranny and murder." "I am glad he was captured alive so he can be brought before the bar of justice," Clinton said Sunday in a statement.
Clinton saluted U.S. troops, who found the bearded and disheveled former dictator in an underground hide-out on a farm near his hometown, Tikrit. Clinton also congratulated his successor in the White House.
"Saddam Hussein's capture is a tribute to the skill and bravery of our troops and the good work of our intelligence officers," Clinton said. "I know President Bush is very proud of our troops today. I congratulate him and them."
Clinton, who ordered bombing and missile strikes against Iraqi targets in the 1990s, said he hoped the seizure would help bring more stability to the country.
"I hope his capture will speed Iraq's transformation to a secure and self-governing nation and increase international support for and involvement in meeting the big challenges ahead," he said.

I agree too. But the praise is designed to blunt Dean's campaign and Gore's endorsement of Dean. Clinton isn't happy about this capture AT ALL!

When do we get to try Clinton? When we capture Bill, my bet is we'll find him in a "hole" as well.

Another psychotic egomaniac speaks.
Saddam's defense will be, "Why should I suffer for these or any other crimes. William Jefferson Blythe Clinton didn't."

Wasn't she practically telling the troops that we were gonna lose? How the two Klinton traitors are still walking around free is a question that should be put to the american people daily by the news media.

I tried to care what Shi$head Clinton "thinks". I really did.
Failed miserably, though.

Well!! If Monica's boyfriend is happy, that ALMOST makes it unanimous.
Frankly, the saddest person about the capture that I have personally seen on TV is Judy Woodruff. I've seen happier faces than hers at a wake.
The next most morbid face was Aaron Brown - but then again he never looks happy unless the Dow drops or Dubya's poll numbers decline.
My thinking is that Kool-Aid and cyanide sales will skyrocket in stores in Democrat neighborhoods.
Oh, then we forgot to quote Senator Tom Dashed Hopes: "I am deeply saddened". :o)

Clinton welcomes capture of Saddam. Who cares?
Actually, the "Former Occupant of the Oval Office, 1993-2001" really does care. Makes him look weak and vacillating, doncha know. It seems like Dubya just catches ALL the breaks. Something that is just such a huge karmic debt, it cannot ever be settled.
Just you wait. There IS a way to spin this, then that arrogant George W. Bush won't look like such a great fellow, now will he?

If Clinton or his ''bride'' were in the White House, they would have given Saddam freedom for fear that putting him on trial would interfere with his quest for Nobel Peace Prize with Israel
