SADDAM HUSSEIN CAPTURED

Former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein has been captured in his home town of Tikrit, according to reports.

There has been no independent verification of the news but Sky New's Foreign Editor Tim Marshall says the source of the news is usually reliable.

The US Defence Department says it has had no confirmation of the claims, which come from Iraqi Kurd leader Jalal Talabani, says the Iran news agency IRNA.

Hundreds of exultant people have taken to the streets of Kirkuk, firing weapons into the air in celebration.

A press conference has been announced for 12pm GMT.

In Baghdad, a spokeswoman for the US-led operation notified reporters that a "very important" announcement will be made at the press conference.

My son and his wife both took P-Chem from a substitute Professor who had never taught before... they wanted to kill him. He had no clue as to how to impart knowledge or understanding and zero personality...they both survived, and infact my daughter in law is doing reaearch on her doctorate in Pharmaceutical Chem currently.

CNN seems to have one, too. You know, FNC does a lot of things well, but seem to fall short in the simple details.

(Remarks not directed to Bubba_Leroy, but to the now further-discredited enemies of America)

FWIW (arguably nothing), I am about the call the Capital Hill orifices of Kennedy, Daschle, Klingon, etc., etc. to express my "appreciation" for the all the support they have given to the efforts of our much-maligned President and our warriros in bringing to pass the capture of this cowardly, heinous piece of $#!t who fittingly had buried himself in the soil!!

Ditto to the Nine Midgets vying for the Demoncraptic Reich's nomination for president. And let's not forget Dan Rather and all of the other vile bastards who infest our airwaves and print media. Likewise the whores among the glitterati who have made their fetid fortunes by selling their movies and music to the laughable suckers and fools who elected the Anti-Christ to two (count 'em, two!!) terms of office as "our president."

They've all been kind enough to excrete for the record their names on the wrong side of the fence and indeed on the graves and doorsteps of American warriors, dead and living.

So much for all the lies, venom, and bluster about this "fallen" Nation botching the war, which, as we all know, was "only about about oil." Eat your hearts out, you seditious sodomizers of camels, who have undeserved and malignant access to the public ear.

And, likewise, you Marxist bastards who lead and variously populate the parade of already vanquished nations led by France and Germany, eat out whatever passes for hearts in your walking corpses.

Americans, and indeed, people of good will around the world, will rub your faces in this and never will permit yo to forget it -- with the help of the likes of the much maligned Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, G. Gordon Liddy, Michael Savage, etc. Now do the right thing, you bastards, and leave the country, as many of you have "threatened" to do.

Or better yet, carry on the tradition of the arrogant henchmen of the Japanese emperor after their ignoble defeat in WWII.

If you have the courage only to do so, please follow through with an ironic yet approrpiate flourish of symbolism -- by using the same brand of box cutters used by other the vile bastards and wounded this great Nation and its people on what started out as a beautiful autumn day in 2001.

Sic Semper Tyranus!!!!

Those de-lousing photos have to do wonders for terrorist morale. What has OBL gained? He's lost Afghanistan and now Iraq. Not only are these guys evil, they're stupid as hell.

I agree with you about Fox.

Isn't it nice to know that the whole world can see how gently Saddam is being treated?

Hope it wards off talk that we would abuse him.

It's true. We have 'em. The 4th Infantry Division found Saddam hiding in a 6 X 8 hole in the ground in Tikrit. He's being held in an undisclosed location. Pics show a bearded, disheveled Saddam. Caught after following "actionable intelligence."

Upon capture..."he was a tired man." "Presented a cooperative posture." "A man resigned to his fate." - Gen. Sanchez.

Fast work, eh, xzins! (^:

Stupid is as stupid does. That, and they probably were listening to the enlightened media opinion of Dubya.

But that's the same thing as being stupid.
