Check out the 2000 debates. Bush is not doing anything different than what he campaigned on. To me that means he is keeping his promise. He is a simple guy who speaks straight from the heart. Compare that to Dean who has a new story every day and changes his opinions faster than I change underwear. Compare that to his spewing of hatred and vitriol against Bush and religous conservatives (just to mention one conservative group) and I couldnt even imagine advising someone to vote for this guy or even consider this guy.

Well my mistake was thinking you were referring to Nelson as term limited, when your post had the word "governor" in it. So we are even. :)

I am stuck in GA 5th district. John Lewis is it, or at least was it last time for congress. I wrote in "John Smith" rather than add another vote for Lewis. Voted straight R for the first time ever, including Saxby Chambliss and Sonny Perdue.

So I am doing what I can, but it feels like shovelling sand against the tide sometimes, even in Georgia.

Are you for real?

Haven't you heard Deans rants about the first thing he plans on doing is to repeal the tax cuts, limit conservative voices like Fox News, cut our military and pull out of Iraq? The list goes on!

You are one scarry dude!

What is your response to my other points. Can't that section be interpreted as meaning that the government should provide free national health care to all citizens? Or that they must provide a job to everyone?

If you read the article in the link I provided you'll see that some programs were cut, taxes were not raised, the legislature didn't pass any cigarette taxes....the state was short on funds but Dean insisted on a balanced budget - and got it. Perfect, no. But he doesn't seem like a pork-barrel guy, that's for sure

He is a tax increaser though. He has said that he will repeal Bush's tax cuts.

Also he was a head of a state of 1 million people and governing something 280 times bigger is a whole different ball game.

That's a conservative version of a utopia. Unfortunately they don't exist. The fact that wealth IS created and HAS been created since the birth of this country only signifies that the GDP will also grow over time. It's only logical that as GDP fiscal spending also grows to match. I can't imagine as we create more spending power in this country that we aren't going to utilize it to further this country.

I agree. They don't exist. And this is why the government will continue to grow. Ideally, the more spending power we have should therefore allow us to cut programs and spur companies to provide some of the services the government once provided.

Nice gun. Would you like that in 20s or 50s?

Too rich and violent for my blood.

On a positive side, They now realise who caused this problem. Does anyone there in Pennsylvania still believe that we need even higher taxes like Dean proposes?

Well PA is not all Dem. .. but yes, many of the Dems are fleeing the big cities like Philly

They complain all the time about paying high taxes .. their problem is that some don't realize why they are so high.

This is where the grassroots and educating them comes in

Looks like we have Dean's Internet machine infiltrating our forums.

Geesh, do you mind Mr./Ms. futureceo31? I was researching Clinton and homeschooling and lots of other stuff probably before you ever even heard of the FR. Sometimes people have an open discussion about the potential presidential candidates. It's not against the FR law for crying out loud. It's a political forum. You're being a wee bit overzealous, imo.

"Ideally, the more spending power we have should therefore allow us to cut programs and spur companies to provide some of the services the government once provided."

My point exactly when I was referencing the need to increase efficiency in gov't to curb it's growth. ALthough I still can't see a negative growth even with unparralled efficiency in gov't over time.

I would be alot happier if Freepers did make a few phone calls on important issues. The only two choices left are, do you want to be stabbed in the chest by your known enemy, or in the back, by a party that is suppose to represent you enough to earn your vote, instead of smugly sneering, "Where else are you going to go?"

As I understand your solution, you would rather make this program available to some and not to others, based on income and ability to pay.

So, the people who actually pay for these benefits would be refused access to the very benefits they fund?

#1. I'm not a dude.

He does want to repeal the Bush tax cut because we have a major deficit. Maybe he'll cut some programs, too. He wants to break up big media outlets, not just Fox News. I haven't heard anything about cutting the military and eventually, yes, we'll have to pull out of Iraq....but not until all is secure over there.

Free beer would be nice too, but I don't see the Republicans making that happen either.

"Tell you what. I plan to vote for whichever Republican runs against Barbara Boxer. I plan to vote for my Republican Congressman George Radanovich. And despite some of his decisions that I hate, I plan to vote for George W. Bush as president. The alternative is unthinkable. And there's no way in hell I'll ever give up and surrender to the left without a fight."

You are correct Jim:

- Tarrifs suck
- CFR Sucks
- Open Borders suck
- Splitting hairs suck

But, there are over a thousand reasons "NOT" to vote for anyone other then Bush !

I for one fled the city and now live on 40 acres in the country. My taxes, with a $200k home, total $142.00 dollars per annum. I have an 11 mile drive to work with very little traffic, the cars are spaced 1 to 2 miles apart, we can still live without fear and don't have to keep our doors locked around the clock.

I wouldn't trade this for all the gold in Fort Knox!
