Rush Limbaugh deserves prosecution

What's next? Many captains of industry and managers of most mutual funds seem to be crooks. Now we learn that America's premier right wing talk show host is a junky. Rush Limbaugh is back from five weeks in detox doing business at the same old stand: spewing bile and defaming liberals and Democrats 15 hours a week. The interesting thing about this episode is that Rush sounds no different now than he did before detox, when he was high as a kite most of the time. Maybe drugs aren't so bad after all. It would be ironic indeed if Rush turns out to be the poster boy for legalizing drugs.
The difference between Rush and the average junky is Limbaugh could easily afford $100,000 a year for drugs. He didn't have to rob liquor and convenience stores to support his habit. So, maybe it is thinkable that admitted addicts buy their drugs at a pharmacy where they could be assured of reasonable prices and predictable quality and purity.
Rush's experience raises many questions: will he be tested periodically like professional athletes? How often? Will he tell us the results?
I think it is a felony to purchase prescription narcotics on the black market as Rush did. Jeb Bush's daughter Noelle was prosecuted in Florida for attempting to buy drugs much milder than Oxycontin with a forged prescription.
Rush poses as a role model for young conservatives. What sort of example has he set? Limbaugh richly deserves prosecution.

"You might be thinking I'm a prude high up on a horse with no experience in hard drugs and drug addicts. You might be wrong."
Try leaving your self righteous, overblown ego out of the argument for ONE DAMN THREAD. It's always about you, isn't it?
I have more patience for "prudes up on a high horse" than with "experienced" know it alls like you, who have contempt for anyone not of your mindset.

That's hilarious. Talk about self-righteous overblown ego.
If you have a bone to pick, go ahead. Shouting and insults are for little children.

Bring me up-to-date here. Exactly what was he convicted of that he should "fry" for?
Oh wait, he hasn't had a trial yet, has he? OK, what was he charged with that he should "fry" for?
What? He hasn't even been charged with a crime? Hmmmm.
Well, when he was arrested, certainly there were charges, right? Not arrested you say?
You say he "was involved" with the illegal drug market -- what do you mean? Can you be a little more specific? I mean, if we're going to decide if Rush should fry, I sure would like to know for what.
What a maroon.

A couple of interesting things I found about oxycontin; apparently this is a prescription drug that is very controversial:
OxyContin addiction has come to the attention of drug abuse watchdog groups nationwide as OxyContin addiction has increased many times over in recent years. OxyContin addiction is a new phenomenon in that OxyContin was approved by the Food and Drug Administration(FDA) only 7 years ago in 1995. OxyContin addiction is as severe as heroin addiction because they are both derived from opium
the manufacturer has been criticised for not properly informing doctors and patients of the high potential of OxyContin addiction. Thousands of prescriptions are handed out every year and abuse, crime and fatal overdoses have since all been linked to OxyContin addiction. Though formulated as a 12 hour time release pill, OxyContin addiction becomes more likely as individuals abuse the drug.
http://www.csdp.org/news/news/oxycontin.htm Attorneys in a suit against Purdue Pharma, manufacturer of OxyContin, have withdrawn their motion to have dozens of federal suits against Purdue consolidated and heard through multidistrict litigation. The Roanoke Times reported on June 27, 2003.
The lawsuits accuse Purdue Pharma, a Connecticut company that makes OxyContin, of overpromoting the prescription painkiller while playing down its addictive side.

Limbaugh plays the radio persona of a conservative; in his personal life, he's anything but.I agree, its all an act that the Church of Limbaugh dittoheads have bought, hook line and sinker.
How does anyone know for sure that Rush has really kicked his habit? Because he says so?
Jacko says he only sleeps with little boys with pure love in his heart and OJ Simpson is still out everyday tryin to find the killer of his beloved wife! LOL!
To: witnesstothefall
Does the fact that Rush was high on opiates while discoursing on the air affect his standing with dittoheads even a little? Yes...it makes us realize that he could truly kick liberal butt "with half his brain tied behind his back" as he claimed, remain the top rated host with the largest audience in talk show history as he informed and entertained millions.
We can only wonder how phenomenal he'll be now that he's off the pills.

As soon as they prosecute Rush, John Ashcroft can go after all the liberals on cocaine in Hollywood and the music business and Academia and (dare we say it?) politics. We won't need Rush because the ranks of liberal 'leadership' will be decimated.

Another sad fact is that many junkies claim chronic pain to obtain drugs
I work in a hospital and you are exactly right. Every Emergency Room in the country keeps a book (or computer database) that has a list of all of the repeat "customers". There is a LARGE number of folks that come in with fake pain problems and they usually ask for a specific drug. Most of them have 4 or 5 different medical "problems" and they just rotate the afflictions as needed.

"Rush poses as a role model for young conservatives. What sort of example has he set?"
Well Lets compare, shall we?
To whom you might ask? Well why not the Supreme liberal icon himself; Bill Clinton?
Rush has,
1.Worked his way up the ladder in the Radio industry, without the help of big government.
2.Single handedly challenged the big media in America, and caused the Nation to give serious consideration to how politics work in America.
3.Demonstrated the Hipocracy of the Main Street Media, and the Democratic party.
4. Raised pubic awareness to all the above, and challenged his listeners to think critically about the motives and actions of all politicians.
5. He single handedly changed the landscape of the conservative movement in this country (for the better) and changed the minds millions of Americans.
In short, he has by himself, done more for the cause of conservatism in America since,....well I don't know who, and become a very wealthy man in the process!
Bill Clinton has,
1. Been a draft dodger
2. Smoked pot, but never inhaled.
3. Elected Govenor and, did little of anything posotive for the state of Arkansas, but had a really good time as a party animal, while racking up all kinds of scummy allegations for improper and lewd sexual behavior, INCLUDING RAPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
4. Elected president while allegations of his sleezy life were being exposed to the voters, who were too busy buying into to his false promises.
4. Had elicted Sex acts preformed on him in the oval office of "OUR" White House, and lied about it under oath!
5. Lied about his indiscresions to th eAmerican peoople and the congress and Faced Impeachment because of it.
6. And is directly responsible for the events of 911 because his administration was too busy making people feel good and didn't have the back bone to stop Osama when he had the chance!
7. Given the Chinese all the technology they needed to launch balistic nuclear misiles against our country.
And this list is not even a complete compilation of all the meaningless and taudry acts of this man.
So back to the original question,"What sort of example has he set?"
In light of the facts listed in the comparison, I 'd say, He's been a damn good one!
To: Mr. Lucky
"Limbaugh plays the radio persona of a conservative; in his personal life, he's anything but."
That is a very profound statement to make about this man.
I would really appreciate if you could illuminate us all, with the documented facts that you have to back it up.

The article is bogus, the conveniently left out that Noel Bush has no record because she went to treatment. They also fail to mention that all first time offenders get the same drug court option.
It is only Rush limbaugh, who when not caught red handed, gets extra special scrutiny and attention to deny him the same access.
