In a demoralizing message to U.S. soldiers serving in Iraq, visiting New York Sen. Hillary Clinton told them that Americans back home are growing increasingly skeptical of President Bush's decision to send them into battle.
Describing two meetings with G.I.s over turkey dinners in Baghdad, Sen. Clinton told reporters later that soldiers wanted to know "how the people at home feel about what we are doing."
Clinton said she told the troops, "Americans are wholeheartedly proud of what you are doing but there are many questions at home about the (Bush) administration's policies."
She also suggested that the U.S. could eventually loose the war in Iraq, contending, "We have to exert all of our efforts militarily, but the outcome is not assured."
Despite her sour pronouncements, the former first lady insisted that the soldiers were just as glad to see her as they were President Bush, whose surprise visit less than 24-hours earlier was greeted with standing ovations.
"It's a positive for the commander-in-chief to visit troops in the field," Clinton told reporters, adding, "the troops [also] seemed to appreciate seeing myself."
Speaking from a secure location just over the Kuwaiti border, Mrs. Clinton launched one verbal salvo after another at the White House, arguing that Bush officials had been "obsessed" with getting Saddam Hussein and saying the perception blinded them to the difficulties of deposing his regime.
"The Pentagon tried to make do with as few troops as possible, as light a footprint as they could get away with," Clinton said. "Now, we're playing catchup . . . Unfortunately, I don't think they fully appreciated the conditions we would encounter."
The top Democrat also reprised her charge that the White House is being less than candid when it comes to apprising the American people of the costs of the war.
"The obstacles and problems here are much greater than the administration usually admits to," she said, adding, "Everybody has to be honest."

I hope and pray you are right. A lot of Americans need to wake up to the reality of the evil person behind the 'it's-for-the-children-and-I-care' facade.
To: PeyersPatches
Well, Hitlery, we "loathe" you as well. Heil Hitlery.

Don't worry about this hag. She wants to turn the soldiers against Bush but it won't work. Example, the crowds did not jump for joy when she entered the room,. In fact, I'm almost positive they just wanted her to leave. Likewise, the troops were overly joyed to see President Bush. If I were members of Congress, I would put these quotes out in public to let America know what a traiter she is. And, to think she is on the ASC. She should be kicked off that immediately. No matter what the event, you don't demoralize the troops as she did. You don't tell them that the American people don't believe in their mission. First, it's just not true; and second, it is rooting against your Country, which Hillary is all too familiar with. Will someone put these quotes out in the public and let them know just what kind of person she is? I will contribute to an ad for these quotes to appear in a major newspaper, if someone wants to organize it.

"the troops [also] seemed to appreciate seeing myself." This line is about all you really need to know about her. No clue, lying and seditious.
Agree but one must make note of her last statement which topped the cake -- "Everybody has to be honest."

I know that I shouldn't talk like this, but this report confirms what I have always believed about Hillary: she's a woman of no principles, a self-promoting little c#@* with a lust for power that is unhealthy. To go to our troops and talk down the support of the American people for the conflict in front of them is beneath contempt. You are so correct
I have watched this women through the years and read what I could find on her.
She is a liberal, marxists, commie activist at heart, always has been, always will be.
Just like in her early years at college, she likes to hide in the background and lets everyone else do the dirty work she tells them to do .. but every once in a while, she will pop up and show her true colors
The only thing that's changed from her college days is, she use to wear a black arm band .. now it's the black pantsuit
One way for the public to see what Hellary is really made of .. is to confront her. She does NOT handle confrontations AT ALL. She does NOT like to be questioned AT ALL.
But don't count on the media/press to do this .. from what I am seeing, they are doing exactly what they did in the 92 elections and are in complete spin.coverup mode

I bet the next Hitlary world tour stops have solders ORDERED to stand and cheer when she walks into the room. Just as long as they don't dare look her in the eye.

If this article is accurate HRC should be charged with treason in my opinion.
It makes perfect sense that she would say something like this though especially in light of the upcoming 2004 presidential elections.
HRC isn't planning on running against Bush in 04 and she wants to make damn sure the other dem's don't win. She knows full well that the dems will suffer from the negative publicity of her comments not her personally. She also knows how quickly so many American voters forget and that her statements now will be forgotten by 2008 or she will deny she even made the statements.
The Clinton's are evil and will do anything it takes to regain the Whitehouse. The dem's are too stupid to realize that they are being used by the Clinton's.

Same here. My belief that she will lose is based on my conversations with my political enemies, as well as my own perceptions.

To: The Right Stuff
I'm up for helping. Let's get it done. Thank you, Right Stuff...it is time to build an army to defeat this vicious fraud. She does not care about our military..this is about demoralizing our soldiers..this is about undermining the Commander-in-Chief in their eyes..it is about trying to convince them that the American people do not support the President or his policies..it is about emboldening the enemies that wish to kill our military people. If we stand for this, we are cowards.
To: Ichneumon
It was a Americans support the troops but doubt Bush's policies. Now she wants to turn it over to the UN.That indicates support for the war fading. She told them what poor planning. The poor troops are being led by fools she seemed to say.

Hillary's message to the troops is reprehensible - so much so that I do not know what to say.

Are there any lawyers who could answer this question: How far can one go in a bumper sticker, such as calling Hitlery a "b*tch" or such? Would a bumper sticker that says "Hillary Clinton is a Marxist B*tch" (with the word spelled out entirely) get one in trouble?

I notice the Clintons don't like to touch one another. There still seems to be love between the Bush's.You're not the first one to mention that! Freepers don't miss anything!
