In a demoralizing message to U.S. soldiers serving in Iraq, visiting New York Sen. Hillary Clinton told them that Americans back home are growing increasingly skeptical of President Bush's decision to send them into battle.
Describing two meetings with G.I.s over turkey dinners in Baghdad, Sen. Clinton told reporters later that soldiers wanted to know "how the people at home feel about what we are doing."
Clinton said she told the troops, "Americans are wholeheartedly proud of what you are doing but there are many questions at home about the (Bush) administration's policies."
She also suggested that the U.S. could eventually loose the war in Iraq, contending, "We have to exert all of our efforts militarily, but the outcome is not assured."
Despite her sour pronouncements, the former first lady insisted that the soldiers were just as glad to see her as they were President Bush, whose surprise visit less than 24-hours earlier was greeted with standing ovations.
"It's a positive for the commander-in-chief to visit troops in the field," Clinton told reporters, adding, "the troops [also] seemed to appreciate seeing myself."
Speaking from a secure location just over the Kuwaiti border, Mrs. Clinton launched one verbal salvo after another at the White House, arguing that Bush officials had been "obsessed" with getting Saddam Hussein and saying the perception blinded them to the difficulties of deposing his regime.
"The Pentagon tried to make do with as few troops as possible, as light a footprint as they could get away with," Clinton said. "Now, we're playing catchup . . . Unfortunately, I don't think they fully appreciated the conditions we would encounter."
The top Democrat also reprised her charge that the White House is being less than candid when it comes to apprising the American people of the costs of the war.
"The obstacles and problems here are much greater than the administration usually admits to," she said, adding, "Everybody has to be honest."

That kind of information would be in an FBI file? Yes. I know of people who have applied for positions with the FBI---EVERYTHING was asked...every place they ever lived (house number, street address, city and state) and for how long...names of neighbors, names of all friends, names of all family members, I believe not just immediate, all individuals they ever lived with, name/place of every school of attendance and duration, all medical history, criminal background, places of employment, and, I believe, any political rallies/organizations/campaigns in which they ever participated...there may be more info. requested....I just can't remember everything....

I would believe the same type of information is collected by the FBI on anyone who will have access to those important in the political world.
I had been asked to help out answer telephones for the Republican party in Palm Desert, CA, many years ago. I think it was because then-Vice President Dan Quayle was coming into town a few days later. I got to meet one of the CIA guys....got to talk to him for hours while I answered the phone. He was there as part of the "lead team" prior to the VP's arrival in Palm Desert. That night, I was called and asked if I would "credential" the press the next day for when the VP flew in, which I did. I had to report to the tarmac and then i.d. every reporter who would have access to the VP before letting them into the press area. I was then allowed to stand there with the press and watch the VP arrive, walk off the plane and across the tarmac....I even got to shake his hand (very exciting). I was told, years later, by a policeman, that I would NEVER have been asked to credential the press had I not first had an FBI or CIA background check first. (Of course, I wasn't told about any FBI/CIA background check)......but there's no way I would have had personal access to the VP without having been checked out first....therefore, I must assume I also have an "FBI file."
I REALLY don't like her. She acts like she doesn't know WHO is responsible for our "down-sized" military: SHE AND BILL ARE!!! I don't know ONE reservist that hasn't been mobilized since 9/11, and my husband is no exception. He's going back for round TWO, now, on top of multiple other trips in the meantime. Our military is second to none, and they are doing an excellent job. Hillary knows it, but she can't admit it... That would be too decent.
GOD BLESS OUR SOLDIERS AND SAILORS, EVERY ONE!!!

Most of the militaryBtw, remembering what Gore-Loseman did to the military absentee ballots in 2000, how many military votes will Lieberman get this time around if he is the nominee?

I'll hit you back on that in a moment. I just sent a query for an update on whether she is being censured or not.
