In a demoralizing message to U.S. soldiers serving in Iraq, visiting New York Sen. Hillary Clinton told them that Americans back home are growing increasingly skeptical of President Bush's decision to send them into battle.
Describing two meetings with G.I.s over turkey dinners in Baghdad, Sen. Clinton told reporters later that soldiers wanted to know "how the people at home feel about what we are doing."
Clinton said she told the troops, "Americans are wholeheartedly proud of what you are doing but there are many questions at home about the (Bush) administration's policies."
She also suggested that the U.S. could eventually loose the war in Iraq, contending, "We have to exert all of our efforts militarily, but the outcome is not assured."
Despite her sour pronouncements, the former first lady insisted that the soldiers were just as glad to see her as they were President Bush, whose surprise visit less than 24-hours earlier was greeted with standing ovations.
"It's a positive for the commander-in-chief to visit troops in the field," Clinton told reporters, adding, "the troops [also] seemed to appreciate seeing myself."
Speaking from a secure location just over the Kuwaiti border, Mrs. Clinton launched one verbal salvo after another at the White House, arguing that Bush officials had been "obsessed" with getting Saddam Hussein and saying the perception blinded them to the difficulties of deposing his regime.
"The Pentagon tried to make do with as few troops as possible, as light a footprint as they could get away with," Clinton said. "Now, we're playing catchup . . . Unfortunately, I don't think they fully appreciated the conditions we would encounter."
The top Democrat also reprised her charge that the White House is being less than candid when it comes to apprising the American people of the costs of the war.
"The obstacles and problems here are much greater than the administration usually admits to," she said, adding, "Everybody has to be honest."

Now do you need a number of signatures to garner a recall petition, to even put this on a ballot? That seems to be the case, as stated within the language previously posted (i.e., the procedures up above, at post #1004). Here's more particular information as pertains to this bill:
SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS:
The bill would provide the means and procedures by which statewide
elected officials, that is the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney
General and Comptroller, may be recalled and removed from office prior
to the expiration of the terms for which they have been elected.
Section 1. Resolved (if the Assembly concur), That article 20 of the
constitution be renumbered article 21 and a new article 20 be added.
JUSTIFICATION :
Currently, the Constitution of fourteen states authorizes the removal
of state officers from office by means of recall. Voters in these
states are fortunate to have an additional means for ensuring proper
representation and ethical conduct by their public officials. Once an
official is elected in New York, however, unless he/she is convicted
of a felony or falls within other provisions of the laws of this
State, he/she cannot be removed from office. This amendment provides
a procedure whereby the electorate can remove from office an official
who has not properly discharged his/her duties to the electorate.

I promise I will write a letter to the editor to my two local newspapers.

What is wrong with that woman? What a horrible message to say to our soldiers' faces. She should be censored for spewing such treasonous venom to our forces on foreign soil.
When someone starts a bounty pot, count me in for a few bucks. I can better spend it there than on Xmas presents.
To: thesummerwind
She flew in on a broom. Then the commander of the Anti-aircraft defense battery in the area should be demoted!!!!!!! Standing orders should be: "Shoot first, shoot last, shoot some more, THEN question any survivors!!!"
Actually, I'm surprised it DIDN'T happen...........I believe if this commander knew it was HER on that plane..............well, the smell of a burning witch in the morning would be most pleasant!!!!

The REAL EVIL in our country is the sycophantic, helpful, promoting media who create her image for the uninformed voters in this country.
I have said since the election cycle of 1992 that the media took a faultering Bill Clinton campaign and remade (by igoring his history and overlooking his lies) him into a viable, electible candidate. The media got BC elected; and they know it; and they think they are the power behind the power; they think they are elite, about the rest of the world.

I just got that link in an email this morning, so I haven't used it. It seems to be a place where posts will be accessed by military personnel from all branches, en masse.

Plus conservatives should (IMHO) stop subsidizing traitorous and sleazeball Hollyweird a-holes like Tim Robbins - did you read the thread about his horrible "play" about Iraq? If their movies bomb financially (most of them suck artistically and message-wise already) it will be a good thing.
I go to about one movie a year - anything with Mel Gibson, and LOTR.

err, sweetie, you too, remember, you are one of us now. Welcome to the Hotel Freeper, you can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave.

Should they succeed in recalling Hillary in New York, OVER THIS, that would send a clearer message to the troops than any number of Presidential Thanksgiving trips could.
It would say we the people ARE BEHIND YOU, and we will NOT stand for anyone coming over to slap you in the face on the taxpayer dollar.
At least the Dixie Chicks were not on the public money nor talking to soldiers in harm's way, when they did their little stunt.

I didn't mean to hassle you, sorry (it's the it thing). Thanks for the info, and I know you're trying.
To: ChemistCat
Apparently, right now, there is no mechanism under which she can be recalled......the Bill has not yet taken effect, and may not for several years.
To: nicmarlo
Yes, I got that from your posts. The best we can hope for is censure, prison, or removal. Thanks for digging up that stuff, it was very helpful.

You're not hassling me at all; I wasn't shouting at you, if that's how you took it, very sorry; I was emphasizng certain words....probably shouldn't have used italics, but that takes too long, lol! I only moved to NY a year ago; I had nothing to do with Hitlery being elected....and I am still unfamiliar with NY laws and those who have been elected....sigh.

"She won't win the Presidency." You're right; she won't WIN it, but she is not above buying and stealing it.
