I have heard and read (see posting #1579) on some news sources that President Bush took the Presidential Marked Air Force One to Washington DC then switched to a back up plane hidden in a hanger to go on to Iraq.

There are other news sources that keep saying he took Air Force One to Iraq. My question is: Which ever plane the President goes in, is it called Air Force One? I think I have heard that whatever plane he is in is called AF1.

I heard the initial reports that he changed planes. But shortly after that they started reporting that he took what we think of as AF1 into Baghdad.

I can't quote many of the posts from Democrat Underground (or whatever they call it) website without violating common rules of decency, but post #7 in CovenBuster's post's URL:

is probably close to a record for foul language spewing. I didn't realize that the DU was such a cesspool of filth.

Take a look for yourselves at the mindsets of the Anti-Conservatives as displayed in their posts and think how it would be to have one of their "heros" as your president or congressional representative.

dummies are quick to forget x42's months of planning for hours long visits in yougoslavian countries.

And I bet Bush didn't take a signifigent fraction of MAC (well it used to be MAC :)) to get him there either. Just AF1 and few fighter escorts, and of course a few tankers. AWACS would have already been up anyway, most likely.

Wonder if they had to refuel in the air, or can AF-1 make it Andrews to BIA non-stop? The escorts would need to be refueled, or work in relays from bases along the way.
