President Bush secretly landed an hour ago and is currently eating Thanksgiving dinner at my undisclosed location. Anticipate a press release after he takes off.

I don't want or accept your forgiveness. Can't we just get over the fact that we may have not acted the same way, and be grateful that someone in the same room with our wonderful President in Iraq felt that we, his FR family, were worthy of knowing before anyone else?
The danger to our President was inherent in the activity, regardless of what is said or done here.

Saddam's response to our President's visit.
Sorry for the awful photo but it does give me great please that our troops got the moral boost and Saddam weeps.

I think you are correct, apoligies are needed for being rude AND for trying to remove this from breaking news!
Hmmmm, this could be one of the reasons I hesitate to post and/or contribute financially to this place. Its a good free read most days, and other days I feel like I'm reading the high school newspaper published by "the cool kids"

I could care less of your "assessment" of anything, let alone "me".
But to perhaps clear up any prior misunderstanding, my position is that any credible communication regarding the whereabouts of GW is a security concern, particularly if the President is visiting a theater of war. This should ESPECIALLY include one of the most rapid means of modern communication -- the internet.
Now, you personally may or may not have "superior knowledge" about today's events (which I doubt, BTW), but nonetheless, I fail to understand your "beef". Security was a major concern vis a vis GW's trip, and the appropriate precautions were apparently taken.

One of those reporters picked up a cell phone at one point. The president told him no calls. Wonder who it was?

I just saw on Fox that
every member of congress had been consulted about this trip to bahgdad in in october.
That would mean that Shrillery had a heads up!

Hah! That picture is proof positive that Saddam is in Afghanistan, and has just spotted Hillary.

That would also explain why Hitlery felt compelled to go to Afghanistan- to try and equate herself with the President and his trip to Baghdad. Surely Hitlery will be hailed as being just as brave as the President. Not.
To: Mad_Tom_Rackham
And you keep neglecting the fact that the terrorists, if they were interested knew something was up hours before this thread was posted here. There was activity in Baghdad to give them a clue. Not to mention AF1 is sitting on the tarmac in Baghdad.

Oops. Thanks for reminding me. My CC expired and I have to re-new my monthly donation. I keep forgetting and I don't want a free ride. :')

This from Drudge (sorry if it's already been posted, have scrolled through this thread as much as I can):
BUT EVERYONE THRILLED, SAYS HOWARD KURTZ FRIDAY: 'Philip Taubman, Washington bureau chief of the New York Times, said that 'in this day and age there should have been a way to take more reporters. People are perfectly capable of maintaining a confidence for security reasons. It's a bad precedent." Once White House officials "decided to do a stealth trip, they bought into a whole series of things that are questionable''... Developing...
The stinking press - they just can't stand to be left out of the loop and have to find a way to turn this into a bad thing. Well, memo to press - ain't gonna happen.

I just saw on Fox that every member of congress had been consulted about this trip to bahgdad in in october.I cannot believe that - the story would have been all over the networks and newspapers within 24 hours. Do you really think the Congress could keep that kind of a secret?

The people posting over there are absolutely rabid. They are blind to the fact that the troops love this President for standing behind them 100 percent. He is their commander in chief no questions asked.Open your eyes DUer's,no amount of your hating is going to shake the President or the troops.Maybe someone should remind the RATs that if we are attacked here again, they may have to declare martial law.
