[history]
The coming return of Rush Limbaugh to the famed "golden microphone" of his national bully pulpit invites us to ponder the reasons for the remarkable success of his kind of radio programming. Liberals have made numerous unsuccessful attempts to create an equally popular propaganda vehicle for the other side of the ideological spectrum. What they may lack is the element of simplicity.
Limbaugh's message is usually resoundingly and blessedly simple. (One should not assume that simplicity and truth are synonymous here.) His genius lies in reducing rather complex issues into deceptively straightforward terms. For example, the challenge of crafting environmental policies that balance legitimate economic considerations with a responsible awareness of the finitude of natural resources is dismissed as the neurotic hand wringing of tree hugging "environmentalist whackos."

Because the one constant in all the anti-Limbaugh articles I have read is that the writers of those articles have not listened to Limbaugh's program. This one is no exception. So true. This is just pathetic.

We do need them all. Different strokes for different folks. Hannity must be doing something right to have acquired such a huge following. Rush is my favorite but I can always glean something from listening to the others as well.
To: Cobra64
Why all the Hannity bashing? Sean has done much for the cause. Remember Reagans 11 commandment?
To: JoJo Gunn
Arthur C. Clarke once defined an intellectual as someone educated beyond their intelligence. Living in the Ivory Tower myself, I can only concur.
To: Pearman
There was an article in one of the communication journals which claimed to be a "thorough" analysis of Limbaugh's rhetoric. It turned out that the sources for their "transcripts" were all anti-Rush websites and newsletters.

Amazing, isn't it, how a few decade's diet of drugs, illicit-pass-marks' sex and rock and roll'll do that to a God-less, PoMoBabbling girlyman who's never left school nor had a job.
Nor yet even a shower.
[PS: Hear the "Kurt Cobaine is just another dead drugger" hypocrite is back on the air tomorrow. And that -- in just 30 predetermined, self-willed and ego-driven days - he's mastered his habit. [Of gulping handfuls of criminally-obtained opiates] Whoopee, Mr Limbaugh. PS Be more careful what's clutched in those nicotine-stained formerly-nicotine-stained fingers of yours, eh?]

The new liberal mind is a bigots mind. They adhere to concepts that are in direct opposition to facts. They espouse socialism when every socialist/communist government has been the most oppressive, murderous regimes ever seen on the earth. The murders by socialist governments have put the murder of innocents by Hitler into the childs play catagory. They ignore it.
Socialism has ruined the medical systems of everywhere it has been tried. They praise the system of Castro and of Canada. In Cuba you can't even find Asprin in abundance. In Canada there is health care rationing. You can get a CT scan for a dog more easily than you can get one for a human.
They espouse environmentalism and then those policies burn millions of acres every year. They squall about global warming but they have corrupted science to the point that there is no science any more. The supposed research that got DDT banned was fake. ( Check out junk science.com. you can find the origional research in the archives)
They whine about rights and exploitation of third world nations by condemning those same nations to millions of unnecessary deaths by malaria every year.
They scream about cigarette smoke and want the legalization of as potent a carcinogen as tobacco, marijuana. They scream about cigarette smoke as being deadly to our children and then encourage them to engage in one of the most deadly activities known , anal sex. ( AIDS, Hepatitis, Multiple std's)
Everything is for the children but they require the deaths of millions of them annually desguised as the right of a woman to choose.
When confronted with facts they can only name call, claim racism or any of a dozen other tactics that have nothing to do with addressing the facts.
Liberals at this point in time are a death cult.
Have you ever noticed how every one of their policies requires that someone suffer and preferably die. They are a sick bunch of bustards.
