BTW, ABC Radio network news (10 am Pacific) said that it was due to (ahem) "Reagan loyalists."
ABC radio news is by far the worst - even worse than CNN radio news.
49 states.

O'Reilly ought to have a field day with this. At least it merits the most ridiculous item of the day.

I don't doubt it. This thing sounded like a real dog -- on top of the inaccuracies. But without the controversy, they would have run it with little promotion.

and although the producers have sources to verify each scene in the scriptIt seems that CBS is stating that the entire script is accurate, e.g. the "AIDS" scene. This would be slanderous, if broadcast

"CBS Says Pulling of 'Reagan' Miniseries Had Nothing To Do With Controversy"
Oh, sure it didn't (heavy, heavy sarcasm).
...You can bet the furniture is flying around the Streisand household right now. Babs will probably post an over-the-top statement on her website about how the Bush Administration orchrestrated a censorship campaign agaist her Gay buddies' pet project, and how Liberals are not being allowed to 'speak out' about the former Republican president's past sins concerning AIDS and the Homosexual community. It'll probably be a howl to read.

I give them credit. The realized they'd made a mistake, and they made a change to correct it. Good for them. That might be a reasonable response if it were an isolated case, but it isn't. CBS has a well-established pattern of pursuing a leftist agenda. Watch ANY CBS evening newscast -- any problem they do a story on, the implication is that the solution is for government to pass a law or spend more money. Recently they ran segments on 'The Dark Side of Homeschooling' linking HS to child abuse & decrying the lack of government oversight.

I just watched "Ellis Whasisname" call this public backlast "censorship" and against "free speech."
Hardly. Those are powers that we fear governments having.
CBS has not been told it cannot broadcast "The Reagans." It chose not to do so because it would have been a financially stupid decision.
I can practice free speech, but I also am expected to recognize their are consequences for what I say.

Ream of paper to print a script filled with lies ... $4.00
Film for the movie camera to shoot the miniseries ... $54,000
Craft service for the cast & crew ... $7,500
Having your hack hit piece film canceled by CBS before it can even air because you angered the Reagan Faithful?
PRICELESS.
For Liberal lies, there's the Senator from Malibu. For everyone else ...

Is there any way to superimpose a cbs logo on top of the picture of Baghdad Bob? That'd be cool.
Especially if we could get CBS's news release about their decision having nothing to do with the controversy.
Nothing near as good as Registered could do, but, here goes anyway ...
CBS will not broadcast THE REAGANS
on November 16 and 18. This decision
is based solely on our reaction to
seeing the final film, not the controversy
that erupted around a draft of the script.
