Al Qaeda again threatens New York, Washington and Los Angeles - Daily Terror Threat

A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.

The message accuses the United States of predetermining its end (doom) by its policies. ?The Jews rule the Pentagon by remote control and (are the cause) of Muslims being killed in every corner of the world. The United States should therefore expect more blows.?

The message is signed on behalf of the al Bayan (The Threat) movement by ?your warrior brother, Abul Hassan al Khadrami?.

Our Muslim expert identifies the name of the signatory as belonging to a Yemeni from Hadhrameuth, the Bin Ladens? place of origin where Osama enjoys substantial tribal support.

DEBKAfile?s counter-terror sources stress that warnings appearing on these forums are taken both very seriously and with caution by the intelligence services keeping track of the terrorist network?s electronic traffic.

Last November, Jeddah-based fundamentalist forums addressed a message to an Al Qaeda member, saying whoever understands ? understands; whoever knows, knows, but we are marching towards an operation that will take us to Paradise. Three days later, the Mombasa Paradise hotel was blown up killing 12 Kenyans and 3 Israelis and a failed shoulder-launched Strela anti-air missile missed an Israeli airliner at Mombasa airport.

Consider just getting a bottle of betadine scrub from your pharmacy (Hershey Medical Center had a study on this alternate way of getting the iodide) ...if you ever need it you can coat one arm from shoulder to hand and your body will absorb the right amount for your size. Betadine scrub is a rusty colored surgical scrub...if you ever had surgery and had some dark orange red stain around the suture site you've had it on you.

Can't you also paint a certain amount of tincture of iodine as well?

Thanks for the excellent summary. You took some pieces of the puzzle (in my mind) and put the puzzle together so it makes sense. Looks like the Saudi "elders" shot themselves in the foot with the "youngsters". It also makes sense now what a potential mess it could be world wide if there was a coup in S.A. Combine that with the seeming wild frontier in much of Pakistan and it looks real ugly. Thanks again. I always look forward to reading your posts.

Thanks - glad to be of help. Forgot to mention that the Saudi's didn't just fund the madrassas in Saudi Arabia - they have funded mosques and Islamic schools in the US, UK, and worldwide. The products of these schools are coming back to bite their proverbial butts (and ours too).

I plan to send out several of these special 'care' packages this week. My friends are really smart people, but very ill informed, because they depend on the cable news stations. Occasionally, they refer to the internet, but not often.

When the brief blurbs about the 'dirty nuke' possibility hit the airwaves, it did get their immediate attention. I tried to talk a few of them into coming here for a couple of weeks, but they know I have Ca. wildfire refugees,etc., so won't "impose." :) Soo, I'll feel better if I know they have the proper supplies. They can gather up their own groceries and will do so, when provided with clear instructions. However, if these threats get any worse, or more definate, I will INSIST they "impose."

I think the study used betadine scrub solely...there must be a specific dermal absorbtion rate that makes it better than the old fashioned tincture...and it's something readily available in hospitals so if an area of the country is exposed and they don't have the pills because they aren't near a nuclear power plant the population can still be given a dosage. You only have to coat your arm once but it should be done within 3 hours or so. The odds are you will never need the iodide pills unless you live near a power plant that has a melt down...but you can always use the surgical scrub to clean a simple cut.

Right after 9/11, when ALL air traffic was grounded, there were reports of Saudi's and members of Bin Laden's family being allowed to fly around the country picking up various family members and flying back to the middle east. It sounded like they was basically the only airplanes (other than our military) that were allowed to fly. What is your take on that? Sure sounded like someone had a very large "in" with someone in our government. The whole thing struck me as odd. I have never quite understood what appears to be a strong hold the Saudi's have over American officials.

If until now no attempt has been made at the Jewish state, I don't think they ever will. They know of the serious consequences they'll face if they ever tried to liquidate a nuclear state. So, I wouldn't worry about it. I worry more about an American city being nuked than a foreign country. Afterall, I'm right in the middle of NYC - Bklyn.

I've read those reports too. My guess, and it's just the guess of a soccer mom who happened to live in the middle east back in the 80's and who reads voraciously, is that the Bush administration figured out pretty darned quick who was behind the 9/11 attacks.

Remember how the Unabomber was caught? His brother recognized his writing. In my opinion, it's not out of the realm of possibility that one of the Bin Laden family members had one of those "Oh sh** look what Osama's done THIS time" moments and called his government, who called our government.

My guess is our government may have been somewhat concerned about retaliation against the Bin Laden families (remember, in those first hours and days no one knew what was going to happen next) but more than likely they were already placing markers to be called in. In other words, perhaps they were doing a favor here and there for the Saudi's in hopes that the Saudi's would owe them one.

Now remember - that's just me, a soccer mom computer geek. I don't have any inside knowledge. I'm not a spook, never have been, never gonna be.

Nearby Lakewood Municipal Airport is planning to install a perimeter fence and a security gate after Paul's Cessna was hot-wired and flown halfway across the country to Minnesota, via Canada, last August. Richard DeMartini was arrested a month later after the plane was found at Springfield Municipal Airport near his Minnesota home. It had been only slightly damaged. Lakewood Township Airport Authority chairman Richard Orne said they're working on putting up an eight-foot chain-link fence topped with barbed wire around the airport and installing an electronic passkey gate in direct response to the theft. He said the airport authority board members were "flabbergasted" by the theft, which apparently happened in front of an airport employee. Recently, Al-Qaeda Intelligences, not just Jihad and Islamic Extremists, are posting about an impending, imminent Nuclear Attack on an American city. Many who usually post, have declared just recently, that they were leaving the boards to complete their mission and will be back to celebrate with the rest. They are asking that Muslims and the like, prepare for a huge celebration in the streets, as a American City is destroyed.

All very interesting but again, this all sounds just too pat. Several problems immediately occur to me:

1. Why broadcast that your operation is about to take place? This risks both the individual operatives and the entire operation itself. No professional military or intelligence organization would permit this kind of laxness unless.... it was being done deliberately as a disinformation or propaganda campaign.
2. What makes them so sure that they can slip away from any collateral damage? By definition WMD's cause widespread destruction, there's no guarantee that they'd be able to get away in time; and the description sounds like they don't intend to die in the process.
3. I suspect that after any WMD attack the country would be so locked down that it'd be virtually impossible to get in or out, or possibly even do much travel within the country. How do they think they'd be able to get to anyplace where they'd be able to "celebrate" afterwards?
4. Why should it take that many people to execute a WMD attack? The operatives involved should ideally already be near the targets, otherwise there's too much uncertainty in whether they could get to where they want to set off the attack within the target time frame. Most of these things just shouldn't take that many extra hands, just a few well trained ones. It's not like it's an infantry invasion.

There are other issues that occur to me, but these are the ones that are really obvious (don't want to give away some of the less obvious problems I see).

I suspect this is all disinformation of some sort - one side or the other sowing confusion with their opponents so that they aren't ready for the real blow. The question is, what is it......? Possibly something to happen before or after the supposed target date? Of a different nature? An attempt to draw out some of the terrorists to catch them? Or just sowing fear and doubt in the minds of whoever sees the postings?
