Al Qaeda again threatens New York, Washington and Los Angeles - Daily Terror Threat

A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.

The message accuses the United States of predetermining its end (doom) by its policies. ?The Jews rule the Pentagon by remote control and (are the cause) of Muslims being killed in every corner of the world. The United States should therefore expect more blows.?

The message is signed on behalf of the al Bayan (The Threat) movement by ?your warrior brother, Abul Hassan al Khadrami?.

Our Muslim expert identifies the name of the signatory as belonging to a Yemeni from Hadhrameuth, the Bin Ladens? place of origin where Osama enjoys substantial tribal support.

DEBKAfile?s counter-terror sources stress that warnings appearing on these forums are taken both very seriously and with caution by the intelligence services keeping track of the terrorist network?s electronic traffic.

Last November, Jeddah-based fundamentalist forums addressed a message to an Al Qaeda member, saying whoever understands ? understands; whoever knows, knows, but we are marching towards an operation that will take us to Paradise. Three days later, the Mombasa Paradise hotel was blown up killing 12 Kenyans and 3 Israelis and a failed shoulder-launched Strela anti-air missile missed an Israeli airliner at Mombasa airport.

I told my little, left-wing sister that (IMHO) the OBL issue will be resolved by the end of February (if not sooner), hope I won't be eating crow on that one. An important note about the countdown clock is that it is not a physical clock that is running anywhere. I've seen so many posts here and at other sites that imply this. It is simply some Java code that tells your browser how much time remains until the stroke of midnight (LOCAL TIME for you and your browser) on the night of February 3, 2004. Because of this I don't see it as a countdown to something that will occur at a specific time, but rather as a countdown to something that will have occured for everyone (or at least for the first time zone to hit midnight if you want to stretch it) before midnight tolls on the night of Feb 3rd, morning of February 4th. I guess the time zone of the party making the threat might have some bearing if you want to look at it as a countdown to specific event in time. Done rambling for now, let me know if I managed to make any sense. :)

I've seen a couple of posts asking what the jihadis will do if Feb 1-3 comes and goes with nothing special happening.

The answer has been known for decades. There are numerous examples of similar things happening.

Some people on this board may have heard of the Millerites from the mid-19th century, who believed that they had calculated the exact year, month, and day of Christ's return - conveniently not too far away in fact. So they went out into the countryside to meet the Lord and ... nothing happened. Undaunted they reworked their calculations, found that they had made a minor error, and proclaimed a new date that was also, conveniently, not too far in the future. And so it went through several iterations.

This has all been very well documented with many such groups over the years - reaching such a date won't stop the predictions, it will just mean that the predictions will be reworked to a new date.

So I wouldn't predict that reaching Feb 4 or even Dec 31 of this year without anything happening will discourage the jihadis in the slightest - they will simply declare that they had made some minor errors, the time wasn't right, etc, etc. Yeah, right, talk is cheap, and we've heard a lot of it lately. Actions actually cost and mean something, but merely making bold words means little.

The big difference between the Millerites and the jihadis is that the Millerites went out in earnest prayer and humbleness to meet their Lord. The jihadis want to take celestial matters into their own hands ... much like a certain other angelic personage is said to have done, and who was banished from Heaven for his trouble.

Question though, the clock uses Java Script. Therefore, does the clock have a tracable search code? If one is running the clock, doesn't this make a flag for being a pop server? Same as if you enter a Group Chat room? So, if you are running the clock, and someone searches for whatever embedded code...would this be an open door to be zapped with a virus or something?

Just googling on your interesting post. It appears that al-Banna might be a somewhat common name (just guessing but it seemed to come up a fair amount). But, there are some al-Banna's that seem to be up to no good. source for following quote

True. Good point; but, the Muslims were expecting a Mahdi. Not producing an event may reduce their own support from within the ME countries.

What we have working in our favor is the rebuilding of Afghan and Iraq. Services are coming in, de-baathification is in progress, de-talibanism is in progress, businesses are bidding for entry, schools are built and being used....

No major attacks happen, predictions aren't believed, living lifestyles are changing for the better, fear is being reduced, ie....recruitment goes down!
