Dear Republican, Over the last few months, Laura and I have traveled the country and have been humbled by the enthusiastic support we have been given. Our country has faced many challenges in the last two and half years and we are meeting these challenges at home and abroad. We're defeating the enemies of freedom. And at the same time, we're confronting challenges to build prosperity for our nation and a more compassionate society. Every test has revealed the true character of America. And no one in the world can doubt the spirit and will and strength of the American people. We are meeting the challenges of our time but there is much more to be done and I need your support. Will you join me in these efforts by volunteering for my re-election campaign as a Bush Team Leader? http://www.GeorgeWBush.com/SignUp/ As a Bush Team Leader you will be asked to help by volunteering at local events, hosting your own events, registering new voters, turning out voters on Election Day and more. Most importantly, you will be asked to recruit more Bush Team Leaders to help us win in November 2004. Please sign up to be a part of this important effort today. http://www.GeorgeWBush.com/SignUp/ The challenges we face cannot be met with timid actions or bitter words. They will be overcome with optimism and resolve and confidence in the ideals of America. We are acting to advance human freedom and liberty and making the world and America more secure. We took action to create jobs and get the economy growing again. We acted on principle. You did not send me to this office to mark time. You sent me here to restore dignity and honor to the White House and to help build a safe and prosperous and caring nation. Will you join me in this effort by becoming a Bush Team Leader and volunteer your time? http://www.GeorgeWBush.com/SignUp/ I want to thank you for the work that you will do in the months to come. There is no question in my mind that with your help we are laying the foundation to win a great victory in November of 2004.
P.S. Again, thank you for making my campaign strong at the grassroots level all across the country. I am grateful to the over 300,000 Americans that have contributed to my campaign and the millions more who've signed up on the campaign email list. And I am grateful to everyone that chooses to volunteer in support of this effort. I need you to make certain your friends and family register to vote. I need you to make phone calls, send emails, help organize rallies, put up signs, and get out the vote. I need you to volunteer in my campaign today. |
That's sounds like a threat to repeat the big screw-up. Get over the stuff; it's counterproductive.
Clueless aren't they? On the one hand, they want the borders closed etc. etc. but on the other hand, that AG went too far with the Patriot Act! Geeze! I am not so sure these are republicans in the first place.
A conservative. Wish one was running.
Please do not persist in praise, it will simply ruin my reputation! ;-)
Not really, I just have no time for those who talk, but fail to understand politics. You take what you can get each time and move on. The American system prevents us from getting everything, every time.
To put things in a historical perspective. In 92 the press was NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, the NYT, and the Wash. Post. There was no Fox News and the Internet was used only by college professors and graduate students for e-mail.
You had Larry King and his "guest" every other night was Perot bashing Bush. Perot after the first time he dropped out of the campaign, got back in because Bush had overtaken Clinton in the polls. Even with that push by the liberal media, Clinton only got 43% of the vote.
92 was the last hurrah for the monopoly of the liberal media and JMO, but it seems that some on FR want to carry on that torch the liberal media had in 92.
No...the legislation was written while Clinton was President and after the first WTC bombing and sat on the shelf untill a politician who could get it passed was in office. Clinton could've never gotten it through Congress. And people on this site would've screamed bloody murder if he'd even tried.
It is sort of difficult to put into words, but In President Bushs case, I think that he believes he put his entire political career on the line to defend America against her enemies, despite harsh criticism and a deteriorating economy. For President Bush, his quest is clear and his cause is just. He is so convinced of his rightness that he is willing to lose an election and face harsh criticism for his actions. But next to his callinghis quest in life, elections, polls, and detractors are simply secondary. Only when one is able to understand that the War on Terror is George W. Bushs quest and why, will one truly understand why the War on Terror is the driving force in his Presidency and why it consumes him.
The USA Patriot Act is an extension of this quest. I think it is definately prudent that the worst provisions in the Patriot Act are sunset limited, but some other parts of serious concern aren't. My biggest concern is that someone with less than holy intentions will abuse the Patriot Act, as Planned Parenthood has chosen to abuse RICO. Even though I believe Bush's intentions were noble, the Patriot Act is simply just bad policy. JMHO
So if you want to call me a one issue voter feel free but this issue goes well beyond one issue. Health, education, safety, employment and other qaulity of life issues are being effected by his failure to control the borders.
When push comes to shove I will most likely vote for him but I can no longer contribute and will not.
Bobby Jindal(R) is about even with the dim and recently was endorsed by several black organizations. The dim can't win without overwhelming support from the black community.
In Mississippi, Barbour is up a few points and Musgroves negatives are at a point where no incumbent has ever gotten re-elected.
So far, so good.
More common sense. There is always incrementalism.
And you can't name a "true conservative".
Oh that's correct only person is the only true blue conservative and his screen name personifies his negative look on life.
Wish to discuss your political viability now, dagnabbit?
I love a good piece of satire!
