"I'm leaving the conclusions up to the investigators."Me too. The lost hunter firing the flare gun will be the one they go easiest on. The rest are in serious trouble.

it is hard to expess in words the beauty of this area. The mountain ranges surrounding this area and the foothills are just so beautiful. That is the main reason I have lived here for 30 years. I just love the pass area. All our old horsebacking riding areas are pretty much inaccessable now due to building and such, but it is still beautiful. I'm with you, nothing prettier than the mountains with snow on um.

FEMA will be there starting tomorrow morning -- talking about Gov Elect coming back Tuesday night and Wednesday to talk to Federal officials about getting help into CA.
SBC and Verizon helping with the forwarding of telephone calls. US Postal Service going to hold all the mail starting tomorrow for these areas.
Congressman from Glendora David Drier on the phone. Cong Duncan Hunter lost his house in the fire. Congressman giving all the info now as he just arrived back in D.C.
Talking about Healthy Forest Initiative by Pres Bush should be pursued. Could have played a role in preventing this if there had been controlled burn. Talking about ash all over his house.
Cong Drier going to be checking into San Diego reports that Davis didn't ask for planes from the AF in Colorado.

You ARES people are awesome! One of my radio guys (that's what I call him) was out helping with animal rescue all day! His group helps our trail races out in the back country (keeps track of runners).

You know how easy it is to mispronounce netnames in your head? I know yours is let-it-ring but I keep saying "le tiring" to myself and it makes me chuckle. Just thought I'd share. hehe

I think the 10 is still open?

They talk so fast it is hard to get some of the names. I know some planes are based at Hemet in the Lake Elsinore area -- they were always used when fires broke out in the mountains around us.

I just got a break, this is getting pretty grim. I was in Claremont, San Dimas area working on fire line today. Very smokey with wind from the north now. We almost lost our L.A. Co. FS 62 in north CLaremont.I'm not in California, but I admire your efforts and activities during this time of need. I've read the threads on and off for 3 days now - you've been a cornicopia of information as well.
A big Tennessee thanks to you!
