BTW, GAL has been named, but I can't remember his name! Check Bay News 9

Exactly. The fact that they have allow him to be her guardian is mind boggling.

So really, it's just the status quo all over again. The new guardian would be only a voice in court proceedings. And what's to keep Greer from ordering another starvation, and Bush another stay, and another GAL being overruled by subsequent judges. There is no real victory here. This could theoretically if she lives go on for many more months or years.

You're right ... I think they DID retire Ole Sparky. I didn't realize they switched to Lethal Injection. I just assumed they got a New Sparky!

just heard on CNN that a new guardian won't be able to do much and that Lucifer will remain her guardian. The only thing he won't be able to do is pull her feeding tube. Now this sucks big time if true. *Groan*...Say it ain't so...

I really don't know the exact statute but Ill try to google it up. Basically I put up all these posts about a federal law violation based on this comment on a web site about the hispice:
But it appears that this board (and all its members) has no shame. They are willing to violate the federal law that forbids admitting non-terminal patients into hospice.
I will try to google up the statute in question and I hope other Pro Life FReepers will do the same. I think it may have to do with the licensing of hospices. (Based on other comments on the same web site.) I have already posted the website in question several times.
FReepMail coming.

The order was served to the hospice, and then she was transfered to the hospital.

Bet you a cup of coffee his current mistress leaves him over all this. She has to be wondering if she is next.

Since the GALs work for the state are their reports open records? I would like to see what the last one reported .

Oh my gosh, good point! The law said she couldn't have her feeding tube removed, that doesn't mean she has to be stabilized or even medically treated from teh damage already done! Oh this is all a nightmare. We have a maniac with the courts on his side.

I would assume that they are able to handle it, or it would be a violation of the order for them to admit her there. No, 'cos, you see, the order only ordered that food and water be provided. The hospice can do that...
I am finding it difficult to keep the focus of my prayers positive.

Let's be fair and balanced, here. Yes, lets don't interject any ideas like right and wrong, moral and immoral. Let us all try to think in legalese then we can all get along. </sarcasm>

It is an insidious and sinister development in the medical care sector of society - one that essentially prepares the sick for death rather than support the battle for life...all in the name of "comfort" and "humaneness". It prepares the dying for death.
You're just flat wrong about this.

People, the ONLY reason someone goes to hospice is to die. It's the law. What law? I've read that many times here, but I can't find any such law. I've heard that it is a federal law, but the only federal laws I can find regarding hospices have to do with Medicare reimbursement.
I'm looking at the Florida State Code pertaining to hospices, and haven't yet found anything like that.
Anyone?
To: RedBloodedAmerican
No, she believes in Schiavo. She has been with him for eight years now. She is patiently waiting for "the money," and it may be a lot more than most of us on this forum thought that it would be. She probably does not even see this a "blood money" so long as it is green and not red!
