TALLAHASSEE, FL -- According to a news release sent by the Terry Schindler-Schiavo Foundation, Florida Speaker Johnnie Byrd will introduce "Terri's Bill" during the special session Monday.
The bill would put an immediate moratorium on all dehydration and starvation deaths in Florida. Meanwhile, supporters of Terri Schiavo showed up Sunday outside a Pinellas Park hospice.
Doctors say Schiavo has been in a vegetative state since complications from a heart attack in 1990. Her husband was granted a court order that her feeding tube be removed, saying his wife wouldn't have wanted to be kept alive.

Doctors say Schiavo has been in a vegetative state since complications from a heart attack in 1990I am so tired of seeing this lying sentence in every liberal media news story about Terri. From what I have seen on video, she is definitely not in a "vegetative state"
Last night we prayed for Terri. I can't wait to tell my family this news.

I know. If she had a brain in her head she would run for her life - literally.

Thank you so much. I've heard reports that the family is deeply touched by how many people are showing their concern for them.

I wish the words 'vegetable' and 'vegetative state' could be called a hate crime. These words dehumanize the disabled and the comatose, and opens the way for lawyers like Mr. Felos to disrespectfully call them such things as 'houseplants'. Disabled people and comatose people are not inanimate objects, and should not be referred to as such. Just because they are not fully functional does not mean they are not human beings.

Your list of the Board of Directors of Florida Hospice centers is FABULOUS. The one problem....area codes for the different towns.
I am going to call Martha Lenderman-sister of Greers bench buddy-judge lenderman, she is the Chair of the board and Robert Miller, board member, who works at Anthony's Cancer ctr.
HOSPICE IS DESIGNED TO GIVE A TENDER AND LOVING PLACE FOR TERMINAL and DYING PATIENTS to End their lives.
TERRI IS NOT TERMINAL.
TERRY IS BEING PUT TO DEATH THERE_____NOT ALREADY DYING BEFORE BEING PUT THERE.
THIS IS A VIOLATION.
A SNEAKY WAY FOR PEOPLE LIKE SHIAVO TO HIDE HIS DIRT with his convuluted buddies who work for and with HOSPICE!

Well, if this ends up not actually happening, let's hope the Judge Moore guy they are appealing to stops things instead.

I think a promise was made and then taken back. Just me, but this on again off again, stinks like the entire case.

I know it is all over but it seems as though the only source is Terri's family. I pray that it's true but I can't get confirmation from any official source.

We are waiting to see if this bill is going to be introduced. Hunt the email links in the thread and email these guys. Marmema (she's on a couple of threads if you do a search for her screenname) is watching the session live to give updates if/when it's introduced.

Thanks. I've been emailing and am on the phones too as are friends of mine.

If this story has been a PR rumor campaign designed to put pressure on Byrd to 'create' a 'Terri's Bill' I am appalled.
The story has been on several FL TV websites & WorldNetDaily.
WE NEED ANSWERS FROM THOSE WHO KNOW THE TRUTH.
Was this story 'put out' by the Schlinders to put pressure on the FL Legislature or were they really told by a reliable source that Sen. Byrd would introduce a 'Terri's Bill'?

This thread was started with incorrect information. If you go now to the beginning, you will see that the originating article has been changed by the admin moderator to correctly reflect that it is the Schiavo family that is the source of the news that "Terri's bill" will be introduced in the legislature. The headline is still incorrect, however, since the special session was not called over this issue, but over something completely unrelated.
