I don't believe for one iota of one second that Michael Schiavo, whether guilty or innocent, would tell his wife's nurse how rich he would be when she died and all the fabulous things he was going to buy for himelf.

Cold-blooded murders aren't exactly smart. This nurse has no reason whatsoever to make this up if it's not true. There is nothing in this for her one way or the other, unlike her so-called "husband", which for some reason you choose to believe despite the mountain of evidence of his outright lies in this case.

I never believed that witness either. But that doesn't make everything else a lie.

The videos don't lie. Did you watch them? Post 54.

>When did she speak? I mean, a coherent word?

Aahh, so all people with Cerebral Palsy, or deafmute, or otherwise handicapped should be killed? No, I don't think Nazi is too strong a word. The Nazi's killed those who they didn't think were worth living. This is in effect what those who think she should die because she can't communicate like you and I.

I don't know what to believe in this case. There were 14 years that went on before any of you became emotionally involved. I'm going to say one more thing, and this is just my opinion which I have a right to say, so don't even try to start insulting me. Even if everything you say about Terri is true, I would NEVER, EVER allow someone I love to live like that. Period.

>If she can speak then wheel into the court room and have >her testify...otherwise, assume the assorted noises you >hear are random and not conscious pleadings for live.

Would be great to do, but the husband won't allow it, and the judge doesn't care.

Maybe you should go INVESTIGATE the facts of this case instead of talking out your rear.

The real question is: would you want to be starved to death which could take two to three weeks or more? Wouuld you want someone to inflict a painful, agonizing death on you?

And your proof for the fact that starvation is a particularly painful death? Various religions use long fasts as a part of their rituals. Generally once you go more than a day or so no a fast, most of your hunger goes away. Yes, when your organs start to breakdown as you die I suppose that is painful but that is why in hospital settings they provide morphine for pain.

My mother died several months ago from severe pneumonia, complicated by infection, long-term Parkinson's and a bowel obstruction which required surgery which she was unlikely to survive. (BTW, she had signed a DNR years before and was horrified of the possibility of being put on a ventilator). I sat with her for four days after they stopped feeding and other treatment except for pain. I did not notice and she did not complain of pain and she was conscious and communicative during much of that period.

From a mother of two special needs children ,I say YOU ARE WRONG!!!!......just because the words seem unitelligible to some, they are not to a parent.!!!

As a mom also of a special needs little boy who is tube fed and unable to verbalize I agree 100%.
Our little guy speaks to us everyday is his way. I can't imagine starving him or withholding fluids. He would communicate his displeasure for sure. One would have to be a numbskull to deny his sorrow at such a choice.

Well, perhaps since you loved them so much you would have the decency to just blow their brains out, then.

First of all, she isn't a vegetable. She has been improperly described by the media. Look at the videos on the website, read some affadavits by prior nurses, listen to people describe her, read about the doctors who believe they can help her, including one nobel prize nominee.

Second, her husband quite conveniently "remembered" that she said "something one time" about not wanting to "live like that" when they were watching "some movie" a long time ago about a person on life support. He can't remember the name of the movie, he only remembered this TEN YEARS after her accident, and only after his initail efforts to have her die were thwarted by her family.

This after he won a 1-2 million dollar malpractice award given to him for the rehabilitative care of his wife. He testified in court that he loved her very much, wanted to take care of her for the rest of his life, but only lacked the means. The award was given to him with the clear assumption that it would be used for Terri's care.

Unbeknownst to the court, he had a girlfriend on the side at the time. And a few months after the money was in his hands, he placed a DNR order on Terri's chart, tried to prevent treatment for infections, and began to deny even the most basic care.

Her teeth have not been brushed in years, she has had no gynecological services, she's allowed no flowers etc, nothing that would stimulate her, visitors are limited and often even restricted, including her parents and her priest. He has denied her any kind of rehabilitative therapy for years, against the expressed purpose of the award money, which was placed in her name in a medical trust.

Lastly, she is not terminally ill. She is mentally impaired. Despite this, she has been in hospice care for years, against hospice guidelines.

She never signed any document whatsoever that would indicate her wish to die, and even if she had, before her accident, withholding food and water was not legal under FL statute. Since then, the law has changed to include removal of food tubes as an ok thing to do (baffles me), but despite the fact that she could not have possibly meant it was ok to do this, the judge has seen fit to retroactively apply the new law to her case.

Hearsay. Her impending death is a result of hearsay supplied by a man with huge conflicts of interest. His current girlfriend is his fiance with whom he lives. They have one child already, another on the way and he vows to marry her as soon as Terri is dead.

,-- I would NEVER, EVER allow someone I love to live like that. Period.--

With all due respect, isn't that rather close to playing God? I can see speaking for yourself, but not to allow someone to live?

Lord bless you. I had a daughter that had to be tube-fed as well, and it is beyond incomprehensible to think of depriving any person of the nutrients they need to survive.
