I don't know what to believe in this case. There were 14 years that went on before any of you became emotionally involved. I'm going to say one more thing, and this is just my opinion which I have a right to say, so don't even try to start insulting me. Even if everything you say about Terri is true, I would NEVER, EVER allow someone I love to live like that. Period.

Well, perhaps since you loved them so much you would have the decency to just blow their brains out, then.

With all due respect, isn't that rather close to playing God? I can see speaking for yourself, but not to allow someone to live?

It should be up to Terri and no one else as to whether she wants to live or not. I believe she wants to live and has communicated this by trying to get out of a chair when a therapist told her she would die if she didn't. According to her father, she almost made it out of the chair on her own power.

Please let all your relatives know this so that they can prepare legal papers to prevent you from stopping them being fed if they are ever in Terri's situation. I think the main point that most, including her parents, are trying to get across is that she deserves the 'chance' for rehabilatative therapy. Terri is being fed,no ventilator or heart pump, obviously she is not brain dead.

Then shame on you and I hope noone you love is ever stricken with a handicap. And let's hope someone else who doesn't love them like you decides they aren't worth living. I still question if you even saw the video of Terri.

Nor would I (if you can call it living--it looks to me like living hell).

NPR had some interviews on today about living wills, preparations for death, etc. Everyone should look into making his or her wishes re medical care known and recorded. It would help people to avoid horrendous situations like this.
