The Sox have let opportunities go by.... The really big thing in this series was when the Yankees beat Pedro. That pretty much did the Sox in. In a series, you can get by with a short (as in not deep) rotation, but only if your good pitchers are lights-out every time (like Johnson and Schilling, or the Twins with Viola/Blyleven). The Sox have the hot pitcher in Wakefield, but when the Yankees beat Pedro the Sox were in really deep. If you have to rely on wins over the Yankees from Lowe and/or Burkett this time of year, your odds get pretty long.

Oh well. That innings over. There's still a few more to go.

The Boss is going to package up Boone next year and send his ass out of town. ....Wish they still had both Ventura and (hot prospect) Claussen. ....horrible trade.

Struck out Nixon, who watched the 3rd strike move from inside to over the plate.
Next out, swing and a miss for strike 3. 1 more out for the Sox in this inning.

I don't like the Yankees, but the thought of seeing big fat Ted Kennedy in some plush box watching the Red Sox in the World Series is unacceptable.
