But I would posit that perhaps Ramaswamy signifies something more. If you are a youngish person looking to get into politics or some other career of public renown, it’s only natural that you would model yourself on the people in your lifetime who have had ostentatious success in those areas, people like Obama and Trump and Musk. It seems likely that, in the future, we will see a lot more politicians like Vivek Ramaswamy.

I am voting for Trump in primary. But I keep open mind.
Then everything old is new again.
He’s Deep State.
webheart, nails it and wins this thread......Nice job.
You are good example of low information voter. You have not bothered to find out context of Soros foundation sponsoring college tuition scholarships.
About the WEF issue: For two years Ramaswamy badgered the WEF to remove his name from their list of “Young Global Leaders.” He finally sued them for slander and they removed him. Same thing happened to Tulsi Gabbard. She demanded they remove her name and foto and they finally complied. It seems the WEF lays claim to any halfway attractive young-ish person of note . . . until they complain loudly enough.
I will bet you did not bother reading the whole article. It is not pro-Rsmadwsmy.
FR now takes advice fro MSM?
> His past votes and support of people don’t match his words…. Then there’s the Soros connection. The left think the right is dumb enough not to notice.
This is why I don’t trust him. He took Soros’ money even when he was worth $2.2 million at the time. THEN he tried to scrub his Wikipedia entry to hide it. What else are you hiding, “Vek”?

This subject of natural born citizenship comes up a lot on Free Republic.
Some Freepers say, that both of your parents must have been citizens at the time of your birth, for you to be a natural born citizens.
Other Freepers say, that if you were born in America, that makes you a natural born citizen. Those Freepers argue that, since you are a citizen without having had to go through the naturalization process, that makes you a natural born citizen.
So which Freepers are we supposed to believe? Clearly both groups of Freepers cannot be right.
Neither! Until there is a definitive USSC ruling it’s like arguing how many angels can dance on the head of a pin!
Then we have to take it one step further, and talk about how will the Supreme Court ever issue a ruling on this.
The Supreme Court doesn’t just sit around issuing decrees. Someone, somewhere, would have to file a lawsuit against Vivek or any other such person, claiming that such person is not a natural born citizen, and such lawsuit would have to be heard in court.
Is anyone prepared to go to court, and challenge Vivek or Nikki Haley or anyone on this issue?
Realistically, if no one ever files such a lawsuit, the Supreme Court will never rule on this issue.
It ain’t gonna happen. He’s a charlatan.
It’s interesting the take on the new republicanism of insults and in your face comments. Democrats trash republicans constantly with that crap and nobody seems to care. But let a republican sound a little ungenteel or coarse and it’s the end of traditional politics. That is one of the things I’ve always liked about Trump. He doesn’t back down. Does he overdo it with the mean tweets sometimes, yes. But at least he doesn’t grovel at the media and democrat’s feet.
Speaking for myself: didn't need to. Don't care if it's pro Ramaswamy or not. He's a charlatan. anyone who's spent @ 15 minutes investigating the guy has figured it out.
The facts are out there for anyone who cares to look.
And for those who refuse to look, that's on you.
He’s got no ‘future’ in my book insofar as a potential vote from me for any office. IMO, he’s a plant - a leftist Manchurian Candidate. I don’t care what he’s preaching now and how good it sounds.
A backup..for Trump IDTS
A wide open spigot for skilled immigrants
TPP supporter
Wants to eliminate a special relationship with Israel our only democratic and very valuable ally in the Middle East.
Throw over Taiwan once his supply chain for semiconductors is established.
Champions violation of The Posse Comitatus Act, which bars federal troops from participating in civilian law enforcement except when expressly authorized by law. This 143-year-old law embodies an American tradition that sees military interference in civilian affairs as a threat to both democracy and personal liberty.
He champions the welfare of companies not individuals.
“As a society we should allow and even embrace the corporate pursuit of financial self-interest above all.” His loyalties, he writes, are not with the “hired hands,” but with “those who embody the essence of an institution” — namely, “founders and shareholders at companies.”
His proposal to take away voting rights from 18- to 24-year-olds
GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy told Elon Musk Friday that he favors more immigration into skilled U.S. jobs and that former President Donald Trump made a “poor decision” by exiting the Pacific-region free trade treaty.
About 20 minutes into the conversation, Ramaswamy also argued for more migration after Musk called for more migration:
“I agree with that. I actually fully agree with that. And that’s one of the things where I think the Republican Party needs to define where we actually stand...merit-based immigration is one of the fixes to economic growth in this country.”
“Merit-based immigration” refers mostly to the inflow of foreign graduates into the well-paid white-collar careers needed by American graduates. Doesn’t sound much like a continuation of Donald Trump’s policies.
“I tend to favor track record, personal history and motivation”
ALL of which were highly suspect with Trump in 2015. Recall there was HUGE concern he was a Democrat-lite or a RINO at best.
The scholarship from Paul & Daisy Soros foundation is the least of Ramashamy’s issues. People bringing it up are doing him a favor by deflecting from his poorly thought out impossible positions, which appear to be cynically selected as selling points and which evolve as needed, even in the course of a single interview.
He is not a registered Republican. He donated to Democratic candidates very recently. He favors the welfare of companies not individuals, from out of his own mouth, not spin. His company is ~1M in the red every year and most of his touted drug advances failed out. What he did achieve was to take money out of investors pockets to the tune of $1B and put money into his own pocket such that counting equity he is now worth $1b w/o making profit at any of his companies.
This is something we should respect him for? Like we respect Romney the corporate raider.
SCOTUS has already ruled on this. You are incorrect
