Conservative commentator George Will criticized 2024 GOP primary favorites former President Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, in a column Friday, saying that both candidates will come out of the GOP primary weaker.
“The 2024 Republican nomination question was supposed to be: Could anyone harpoon the Great Orange Whale? Who knew that he would harpoon himself, repeatedly? Or that DeSantis, playing Captain Ahab, would pay Trump the sincerest form of flattery by imitating his persona as an unhappy warrior?” Will wrote in a Washington Post column.

George Will couldn’t be more out of touch if was drifting along the extra-solar Oort Belt!
“Will wrote in a Washington Post column.”
______________
Of course.

George Dipshit
“What a small sniveling pile of rotting dogsqueeze”
downright Shakespearian
George Will should have stuck to baseball where he didn’t suck as much…
Never played any Baseball, yet claims to be the World’s biggest Baseball expert.
Will is really good at saying nothing. It is astonishing how lacking in substance his alleged insights have become. At least when he’s pontificating about conservative politicians. His comments are carefully designed to avoid any discussion of their actual policies. He’s extremely weird, as are all Never Trumpers.
Time to write a cookbook.
Remember when “conservative” luminary George Will had a grovelling dinner party wherein he kissed the ring of Bathhouse? I believe Bill Kristol and David Brooks were also guests.
Will probably predicts victory for a Pence/Hutchinson ticket.
Total neocon.
I think the big problem with the front-runners is that Trump has been attacking DeSantis for months, but DeSantis hasn’t responded with attacks on Trump because he feels (as do we all) that Trump has been done bad and we shouldn’t attack him.
Trump’s stock went up hugely after the indictment because people want to show their support.
But we also have to think about who’s going to run the US in 2024.
The neocons, of course, are all too happy to attack and destroy both of them and are hoping that one of their lousy candidates will fall into the void.
Not going to happen.
What Trump needs to do is participate in the debates, make it about policy and not about him if he really wants to win this on the basis of principle. And there will be some things he will need to explain, such as the lousy advisers he selected, his handing over the Presidency to Fauci and Pence during the faux epidemic, his attacks on Kemp, Abbot and DeSantis for reopening their states, etc.
On the other hand, maybe he should really make it about him by seriously attacking both the 2020 electoral corruption that denied him the win (because he obviously did win) and also the corruption behind this faux “indictment” on the basis of some things that aren’t even criminal statutes.
I think the entire GOP would support him...well, except for the neocons...and he would do a massive amount of good focusing on election fraud, government interference, etc. He has the rallying voice, and unless we overcome these things, our “democracy” or “republic” is essentially over.
Janis Joplin, in Me and Bobby McGee, sings “Freedom’s just another word for nothing less to lose,” and I think Trump has nothing left to lose and should go for a total attack on the corruption of our system.
george desperately trying to be relevant
That was a good comedy film, but at the same time, a sort of strange movie. I think Mr.Limpett actually becomes a fish at the end.
George Will should put on a dress.
He can model for Bud Light.
Maximize the FAIL.
Now THAT is hilarious
(This four-eyed CryptoDemocrat has NO problem with The Tater and his corrupt money machine.)
Well-said.
Will the neocons who will never support Trump really pull a lever for the Dems come election time?
DeSantis has been attacking Trump from the shadows in his stealth Presidential campaign pre-announcement for well over a year- his odious band of influencers have been incredibly vicious- while Ron himself lacked the character and integrity to do so directly remaining above the fray.
