Ryan: Trump Will Achieve Immigration Reform Despite Opposition

House Speaker Paul Ryan said during a Friday interview Democrats will “have to stomach” the fact that President Donald Trump will advance immigration reform.

Ryan spoke with WISN’s Vicki McKenna at length about immigration and the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

“They’ll have to stomach the fact that yes, this president will be successful in doing something that hasn’t been done for years, which is advancing some immigration reform, advancing security, advancing enforcement, and advancing a law that fixes the DACA problem so these kids don’t get kicked out,” Ryan said.

“That would be a victory for this president. And that would be, if you’re a politician and you’re partisan and you don’t want to see him be successful, that will be a tough pill to swallow.”

Ryan noted that Democrats who do not support border security are simply playing partisan politics.

“It’s only common sense that we secure our border,” he said. “Having control of your borders should not be partisan. I think it’s a real mistake if because [some Democrats]dislike Donald Trump so much and they don’t want to see him get any success that they’re gonna stop us from actually securing our border. I don’t think that’s a sustainable position.

“The compromise that we will advance will be one that includes securing the border.”

Ryan also addressed Wednesday’s White House meeting between Trump, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi that centered on immigration. Reports said the group came to an agreement on a border security bill that would protect DACA recipients and also excluded a border wall, but Ryan said no deal was made.

The dinner “was a discussion, not a deal,” Ryan said.

If the illegal lien dacacas get to stay, they will be citizens sometime in the future...not citizens as IMMIGRANTS become citizens...but citizens just the same...voting and all...

if not during President Trump’s time, then later...

all they have to go is sue for equal protection etc...SOB..they want to be like other IMMIGRANTS etc...

If they are made into quasi IMMIGRANTS they would then be “entitled” to everything that comes with that status...citizenship could not be separated from the mix...some “class action” suit would win them “citizenship” or a Ryan and a McConnell would vote them in...

the so called “children” might be 60 by then but its coming some time...

don’t fool yourself that a bunch of people could live in the US for decades without being handed “citizenship”

the sure numbers (800,000) are being used to let these illegal aliens stay here...a slice of “legality” ...why not give them the whole pie ???

after all America is “fair”...and unbalanced...

Oh and the evil criminal illegal alien parents who dragged them here kicking and screaming ??? they should be in jail and deported but they will get to stay and become citizens too...

Unfortunately you are most likely correct. He must be the worst judge in character in the history of the presidency. If he has been conned and if that is the case the guy clearly doesn’t understand history and the forces at play and the consequences of amnesty/colonization of the us for a globalist pipe-dream.
Most people are not ready to give up hope because they don’t understand the issues - despise the idea of conspiracies and don’t want to become depressed. The normalcy bias will be broken and we will have to face reality. The sooner the better.

True...I certainly would have preferred a direct attack by Trump - blaming only the Democrats for obstruction, taking what he could from this Senate, and pushing for more Republicans in the 2018 election.

...but I guess he doesn’t operate that way.

What this oath breaker omits from all this DACA, is tax payer ‘faith base charities’. Remove the billions paid out to the religious human traffickers and there will cease to be an illegal invasion.

Lying Ryan is a Catholic and he is doing the bidding of the US Catholic Bishops to the tune of billions a year in tax payer dollars to traffic humans.

If Trump allows Ryan-style "immigration reform", i.e., amnesty, he'll not win in 2020.

That is why he made two sensible comments in two days.

He lied about repealing health care already... He obstructed Trump far more than he ever obstructed Obama.

All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside.

There it is. I'm not a constitutional scholar but it seems like an amendment to the Constitution is needed. Otherwise if you're born here you're a citizen.

Paul Ryan should be drawn and quartered.
