NEW YORK (AP) -- They wash their hands of neo-Nazis and wag their fingers at leftists. They denounce a press corps they see as biased and controversies they view as manufactured. But in the frenzied blame game over the deadly violence at a rally of white supremacists, Donald Trump's loyal base is happy to absolve the president himself.
Even as Trump's zig-zag response to the weekend bloodshed in Charlottesville, Virginia, has brought criticism from some Republican lawmakers, many men and women who helped put him in office remain unmoved by the latest uproar.
"He has done nothing to turn me away from him," said Patricia Aleeyah Robinson, of Toledo, Ohio.
Robinson is black and her support of Trump has put her at odds with many in her life, costing her friendships and straining family relationships.....

Trump exactly understands what the left is doing and instinctively fights against it. THAT’S his appeal. He doesn’t do it for votes. He doesn’t do it to placate anyone. He does it because that’s how he feels. He’s got to fire anyone who apologizes for him or who tries to restate what he says. Let Trump be Trump and if you don’t like it hit the road.

Did Donald Trump issue the permit? Did he rope off the area or direct protesters? Did he call off the Charlottesville police when trouble broke out? Did he embrace a particular group? (Questions are rhetorical)
I saw a bunch of KKK peeps fighting commies and anarchists... some anarchists ticked off the wrong guy and played stupid games in the street and died.

Ditto that. My support is stronger now than ever - - and it was VERY strong since his “Elevator Day”.
On days like yesterday when the President takes it to the enemy my chosen way of lending support is to make a small contribution to his campaign website. (It is also like voting for him again.)
I think a lot of people feel similarly and the more President Trump is attacked and vilified, the firmer we are in our resolve to take his side over that of the cacophony of leftist lies and distortions.
