After the fall of Richmond in 1865, Abraham Lincoln went to the Confederate White House in Richmond as part of a tour of the city. A large crowd of civilians gather to see Lincoln.
Weitzel asked the President for advice on how he should treat the citizens of the captured city. Lincoln replied that he did not want to give orders on that topic but "If I were in your place, I'd let 'em up easy, let 'em up easy."
We won the election, but these sick, evil people need to face justice.
Gracious? Hell no!
That’s Not the Way Obamy played It!
They are going to scream about the popular vote and electoral college. That is all I will hear at work.
Sorry, I’m on a long bender getting drunk on sweet leftist tears.
Soooo delicious!
I’m afraid our celebration will be short lived.
The establishment is going to crash the economy, and make Trump and republicans more vilified than the Hoover was during the Great Depression.
Enjoy today’s victory while we can.
That was part of what amused me. That and the way they were willing to admit they are only good for menial (cheap) jobs.
Yes! Someone has to be the adult. That doesn’t mean we back down, give in. It means we remain unrelenting in our goals, with a smile;)
President-elect Trump (can’t believe I just typed that!) showed his leadership last night and extended a hand with humility. He showed grace in winning. .
I am, however, relishing every moment of this loss for Clinton. For the whole Clinton Gang!!! For some of us, this has been decades coming..
Make no mistake, we’ve won a battle, but it’s still a long war. Lincoln didn’t ease up until the war was won.
Trump, who has no Christian testimony, actually acted more like a Christian by speaking the truth in these matters.
We have shown we have the power to ignore
It’s not going to end now
All my liberal ~friends on facebook are swearing and calling Trump voters racists.
In other news, Ruger is down $7.80.
I am doing so.
But wacthing the melt down is better than anything I could say or do.
They were outside the White House chanting FU Trump.
That does not bring out the gracious with me. They do not deserve graciousness.
Oh yes, I think I will be as gracious to them as they would be to our side if Hillary had won.
Nah. Whiners, even a couple of my kids. “OMG, Hate Won” is the cry. Nope, not gracious winners. Just WINNERS
Firstcthing I did this morning was check FR to make sure I wasn’t just dreaming last night.
:)
Agree!
God has shown us grace and mercy. We should praise Him and not gloat. President elect Trump is sworn into office in January- that is a long way off for me to feel comfortable.
We should start thinking about 2020 though. Seriously! Those dam*ed voting machines and the rigging needs to be addressed early on. Not the summer of 2020.
No, I am not going to be gracious. They will start working to thwart Trump today. I am going to be as nice to them as they were to me in 2008 - which was in your face and screw you we won.
Ditto
From Savannah, GA here. Have had a TRUMP sticker on my black Dodge truck for 15 months. I took it off this morning. Chatham county was decidedly blue as usual. Don’t need any problems out in the jungle.
On a positive note, I work directly with the military and they are HAPPY!!!!!! this morning.
It’s not what you say, it’s what you do. Trump is a better man than most give him credit.
