Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, a longtime Clinton confidant, helped steer $675,000 to the election campaign of the wife of an FBI official who went on to lead the probe into Hillary Clintons use of a private email system, according to a report.
The political action committee of McAuliffe, the Clinton loyalist, gave $467,500 to the state Senate campaign of the wife of Andrew McCabe, who is now deputy director of the FBI, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The report states Jill McCabe received an additional $207,788 from the Virginia Democratic Party, which is heavily influenced by McAuliffe.
The money directed by McAuliffe began flowing two months after the FBI investigation into Clinton began in July 2015. Around that time, the candidates husband was promoted from running the Washington field office for the FBI to the No. 3 position at the bureau.
Within a year, McCabe was promoted to deputy director, the second-highest position in the bureau.
In a statement to the Journal, the FBI said McCabe played no role, attended no events, and did not participate in fundraising or support of any kind. Months after the completion of her campaign, then-Associate Deputy Director McCabe was promoted to Deputy, where, in that position, he assumed for the first time, an oversight role in the investigation into Secretary Clintons emails.
The governors office claimed the FBIs McCabe met the governor only once on March 7, 2015, when McAuliffe persuaded Jill McCabe to run.

RICO
Well that’s not fishy at all.
Purely circumstantial. 8-Q
Is anyone else sad that it only takes $500,000 to sell out America?
He went from running a field office to the #2 guy in less than year. Yeah, nothing going on here.
Drain the swamp.
His first run-in came in the mid-1990s, when he joined the Senate Whitewater Committee as a deputy special counsel. There he dug into allegations that the Clintons took part in a fraud connected to a Arkansas real estate venture gone bust. No charges were ever brought against either Clinton..."
"In 2002, Comey, then a federal prosecutor, took over an investigation into President Bill Clinton's 2001 pardon of financier Marc Rich, who had been indicted on a laundry list of charges before fleeing the country . ..."

Terry McAuliffe is one of a rare few who could match Bill Clinton in the sleaze dept. I recall some years ago a political commentator saying about TM, (pp) "The guy oozes sleaze from the pores of his skin", or something close to that.
No real intent.........comey
Yeah, but what was his INTENT?/sarc
No, sounds like “Hush Money”. Remember Hush Money from Watergate? The Washington Post gave Nixon hell over it; bet they don’t say a peep about this.
How this slug, McAwful, ever got to be Governor of a great State like Virginia simply amazes me.
Ping.
McAuliffe has felt dirty for years...
I nearly PUKE every time I hear that the wonderful Jim Comey is a Republican.
Democratic Party That Gives to each other.
