Beltway Republicans continue to influence nobody.
Over the past 48 hours, influential Republicans have greeted the latest batch of lewd, misogynistic remarks from their party’s standard-bearer, Donald Trump, with a mixture of belated revulsion and resistance, prompting withdrawals of support and renewed calls for him to quit the presidential race. However, it would appear that rank-and-file GOP voters are, once again, rejecting these calls from their party’s elites, and are prepared to stick by Trump’s side, at least for now.
Those are the findings of the latest Politico/Morning Consult poll, the first of its kind to attempt to gauge the public impact of Trump’s now-infamous commentary about women with Billy Bush, who was then at “Access Hollywood.” This new poll found that while nearly three-quarters of all respondents had a negative reaction to hearing these remarks, there was a distinctly “partisan element” to the respondents’ reactions.
According to Politico, after watching a video of Trump’s remarks, “10 percent of Republicans said the video gave them a positive feeling,” while only 22 percent of GOP respondents rated the video a “zero (very negative).” In terms of favorability, “just 48 percent of GOP voters said it makes them feel less favorably toward Trump, while 36 percent said it doesn’t affect their opinions.”
But the most important finding seems to be that GOP voters do not want Trump to quit the race...

it comes across as completely coordinated and choreographed. The “outrage” is kabuki theater.
Now with the first question telegraphed and taped for Hilary, it is clear the fix is in on the debate.
This is no longer about Trump. It is about punishing the citizens of the USA.
It’s possible the GOP elite should watch Braveheart. Many of Trump’s voters hear a rallying cry of “FREEDOM”.
Freedom from PC, freedom from overbearing taxes, from dishonest politicians, from horrible trade deals, from illegal invaders, from constant war and constant invasion of government into our private lives.
Sort of like freedom from the British many years ago and I believe there are more than 3% buying into it this time.

I already have that list in Nevada and have informed them all I will vote for their democrat opponents. If I’m going to elect a sleaze, might as well be one that is honest about their intentions.
I said from the beginning, that more blacks ( males ) would vote for him and there is something I saw on line, on BizPac, that proves that I was correct. And people who are staunch Trump supporters became even STRONGER ones. Just look at the majority of posts here! :-)

I think from the movie perspective you are correct.
The GOP elites cannot afford to lose their positions and are willing to risk damage to the country that comes with HC.
HC will not ruin the country - but it will probably cause lasting levels of damage.

Re Herman Cain and every election cycle: The MSM’s power has been declining over the years. I don’t know if they still have enough power to wreck our candidates. We shall see.

Odd, you felt it necessary to call out Cruz yesterday on this. Why?
Because he promised to endorse the winner, and to date, the best he’s said is that Trump is horrible, but less horrible than Hillary.
What a resounding endorsement from the man for whom you bundled and we gave many hundreds to, as well.
