Democratic vice-presidential nominee Sen. Tim Kaine (D., Va.) said Thursday that youve got to respect San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernicks decision to sit down during the national anthem as a sign of protest of Americas treatment of minorities, adding he would do it differently if it were him.
At Thursday nights game against the San Diego Chargers, which will feature a Salute to the Military event, Kaepernick is expected to sit again during the national anthem. Good Morning America host George Stephanopoulos asked Kaine about it during the latters run of media appearances Thursday morning.
Youre the father of a Marine. Whats your reaction to Colin Kaepernick? Stephanopoulos asked.
You know, youve got to respect peoples ability to act according to their conscience, Kaine said. I mean, Id do it differently. I think if you really thought about issues and this country, youd do it differently, and when I heard him explain his rationale, didnt really make that much sense to me. But youve got to respect peoples ability to act according to their conscience, so I wouldnt presume to tell him what to do.(continued)

If Hilliary passes away we’ll wind up with this turkey in the WH
Actions have consequences. You don’t dishonor our flag that has draped the coffins of out returning hero’s. You did it, you pay the piper for your actions.
Trump/Pence...Make America GREAT again...
What more do you need to know?
Actually, I don’t, Mr. Kane.
The allegiance says zip about what you refer to. Yes, many things bother me as the left has about destroyed this nation that many of us love more then our own life and we have damn near died for it. Many of the men we served with in combat died for this nation. They did not die so this punk can sit on his ass and rebuke our national anthem and bad mouth the police. The majority of police are vets or still serving in Reserve or guard units. I will never forgive this bastard or anyone who claims to be a US citizen who refuses to say the pledge or get off his ass and stand properly for the national anthem. These are two basic American traditions my friends who paid the ultimate price for this country held dear.
Am I really that much smarter than Dems... :-)
My father passed away not long after 9/11 so I had a hard time rounding up a Marine Corps firing squad, but I finally was able to get one together.
IMO, Kaepernick has no conscience! The Schmuck should crawl out to Arlington National Cemetery and beg forgiveness from American heroes who served this nation and those who paid the ultimate sacrifice so his sorry ass could be free to have his spoiled tantrum.
30 years ago people knew the difference between right and wrong. 30 years ago nobody would have been defending this scumbag because of his "right to free speech" and he would have been excoriated not only throughout the sports world but in the press too......
I don't know what the proper term is but this country has lost the ability to objectively condemn what is wrong..........
Target is having a sale on pacifiers
The Democrats would be empathetic to the Stalinist purges.
Cool. Glad it came together. I’ve been with my dad and others at a Marine funeral here local.
so I guess Kaine is cool with Joe Wilson yelling “You Lie” when Hussein lied on national tv about illegal aliens getting taxpayer funded doctors.
Kaepernick is offending the mass of decent citizens. I hope 49ers fans boo him.
Kaine probably owns a couple of pairs himself.
and offers Trump perfect fodder for a TV ad...
This story is garnering way too much attention
It is? Where?
O Thank you Gawd!! This is such a gift from Gawd. Watch tonight jack ass. Go Trump.
