On Friday in a press conference, Attorney General Loretta Lynch vowed to "accept" investigators' and prosecutors' recommendations regarding whether to indict presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton's alleged use of an insecure email server. This announcement set aside whisperings that Lynch would be a safety net for Clinton if an indictment was recommended, particularly in light of a certain tarmac rendezvous with Bill. While Clinton waits to hear her fate, some wonder if an indictment would help the all-but-defunct campaign of her rival, Bernie Sanders. Looking at the inevitable domino reaction that could come with an indicted presidential candidate, the question becomes, could Sanders become the nominee if Clinton is indicted?
Let's start with what happens to Clinton if she is indicted. Nothing in the Constitution says Clinton has to step down if she is indicted. In fact, as long as Clinton is still a natural-born citizen, over the age of 35, that has been living in the United States for at least the last 14 years, she can still be president. However, like anyone who has ever gotten turned down for a job, just because you meet the basic qualifications, doesn't mean you will get the gig. Clinton has a solid but not huge lead in recent polls over presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump; Fox News has her polling at 44 percent to Trump's 38. With that standing, she would likely be pressured by Democrats to step down and make way for a less tarnished candidate no doubt to Trump yelling, "Crooked. Crooked" while ringing a bell, à la Cersei Lannister's walk of atonement.....

Hillary is not going to be indicted.
No silly, hellery is going to be the first president that sports an Oval Office complete with bars.
Hillary is not getting indicted. We are being sand bagged. The FBI, who we have been told is doing an honest investigation, will tank this. That way, Clinton can claim she is a victim, Obama can spare his AG any appearance of impropriety and we can all be demoralized.
If indicted, she would go up in the polls. “It’s a vast right-wing conspiracy!”
(I pledge $100 to FR if she is indicted. $1000 if convicted. Nolo contendre doesn’t count)
Eugene V Debs ran for president from
a prison cell, Hillary. I’m just sayin’.
One of her idols.
Loretta Lynch said she would accept the recommendations of the attorneys handling the case. What she did not say is she told those attorneys they are in charge of sex and music. That is, when she wants the f#$%ing opinion, she will whistle for it and she will not whistle until after she had told them what their opinion will be.
I'm not sure they can find an ankle monitor big enough to fit her.
The criminal Obama is caught between a rock and a hard place. He can’t stand the CLintons and would love to sandbag her, but
a) she has so much s**t on him it ain’t even funny;
b) Trump gets elected in a landslide threatening his precious legacy; and,
c) his reputation with the Left as the “greatest ever” would be forever soiled.
Don’t be so naive as to accept this nonsense that Loretta Lynch or Jim Comey or “the professionals in the DOJ” have the final say on an indictment. It’s such a COS. Obama will have the final say and, in all likelihood, has already said it.
It’s a long way till the fat lady sings. But I believe she won’t get indicted or elected.
It’d just slip right off.
It would be funny if the FBI frog marched her out of her own D.C. digs. But this aint Argentina, Bolivia or Brazil where crooked political leaders are arrested and charged for their crimes. This is America where slight embarrassment is punishment enough.
My money is pretty safe. You are correct in that obozo can destroy her campaign or boost it. She may win and obozo will still be the puppet master.
Make a special cankle monitor with little spikes on the inside pointing down. If you try to slip it off it climbs higher up the leg.
She is a citizen who holds no office.
I'm giving a coin-toss that since Clinton can't pull away from Trump, even with all the media pounding he's taken, and they'll put in Warren.
Bill Clinton wasn’t there about that, he was making sure that the DOJ & the attorney general would cover his backside when the lawsuits start being filed over the 26th amendment violation of his third term in office. The Solicitor General made a very impassioned and lengthy fight before SCOTUS highlighting just how important marriage is, and how the federal government sees such a unit as one entity - that argument is exactly the same one which would be used in any 26th challenge against Secretaries of State accepting the Clinton’s nomination for president from the DNC and placing the ‘her’ portion of the unit on the ballot.
We’re talking the Dixie mafia here - they’re very well versed in how to wiggle out (and throw others under the bus) when it comes to an investigation.
We’ve seen a lot of slight of hand and end fakes today, all meant to distract us into thinking something big is about to happen to Hillary. I’m no longer that easily fooled.
This country is now so corrupt that if she is indicted, it will help her. If she is convicted she would win big time.
Otherwise Trump might have a chance.
To anyone who has paid only slight attention, she is guilty of probably hundreds of crimes but the FBI, Justice Dept. etc. are now totally corrupt.
He didn’t win, though.
