owa radio host Steve Deace -- who was one of Ted Cruz's most important backers in the first primary state and who has a nationally syndicated radio show -- recently asked his followers on Twitter whether they want Senator Ted Cruz to publicly endorse Donald Trump.
The results show that 83% say no, while only 17% say they want Cruz to use his political capital to help Trump.

Basically allows delegates to "vote their conscience" on a first ballot. No delegate will be tied to the choice of the people. IOW, whoever can stack their delegates in will be the nominee for future elections, if Cruz has his way anyway.
Yep.
Yes. WHat About The PLEDGE, Ted?
I was an original Cruzer and donated to the max {much to my sorrow} but he turned out to be a political hack. I don’t care what he does in the future, he is dead to me.
Cruz signed the pledge, didn’t he?
That he has any listeners remaining would surprise me.
If he doesn’t, he may as well shoot for some circuit court judgeship....
The fight for popular determination of candidates has been going for over a hundred years. He would throw all that away and go back to the smoke filled rooms. Would that be progress? Are those the good old days we supposedly long for? I say no.
Deace and Cruz and beck. A trio worthy of distain
83% of cruz followers do not recognize or care that his unwillingness to concede to trump and back him will be remembered as a character flaw by a great many more people from who,he will need respect in any future national campaign
Sore loserman - always the image that will follow Al Gore
And now Romney and Cruz too
“Yea, this is the part I dont understand.
Cruz, because of his youth, was perfectly positioned to ride Trumps coattails into the 2020 nomination (should Trump lose) or the 2024 election (as Trumps heir apparent).”
Absolutely. I think many of us were hoping that would happen. But we dodged a bullet, big time.
Anyone who hasn't done so already is irrelevant. They became so when Trump reached a majority. It was, ironically, with unaffiliated delegates that Cruz had claimed as his own.
I wonder if Trump won't be better off, more able to attract independents and Bernie supporters, if he DOESN'T have the endorsements of Cruz, Ryan, Romney, the Bushes and the rest of those who don't give a damn about the will of the voters.I've been thinking about the millions of dollars Trump has spent on this campaign. How much of it is because of the antics of the nevertrumpistas?
Cruz has no political capital at this point.
He’s the next Ron Paul.
The guy from North Dakora has been trying this for years.
It is the petulant child syndrome
Cruz would benefit more than Trump.
Otoh, whatever it is he has begun will likely finish him.
Fascinating to watch, especially so given his birth and evangelical makeover.
Otoh, had Trump not been a candidate, this wouldn't have been quite so fascinating.
Instead, it would be frustratingly tragic watching Ted and the conserva-cons finish what Barry started.
As the magistrate is, so will his officials be,
as the governor is, so will the inhabitants of his city.

Whatever Trump brings with him, his first gift for me is a real hope for real change back to reality.
You nailed it!
And if they do rig it so the delegates can vote any which way at the first ballot, then the whole concept of “of the people, for the people, by the people” goes right out the window... and we no longer have a say in our governance, and no more representation.
That’s not what I signed up for, and not what I support...
The last time we had no representation, there was a Revolution over it.
Oh, ok! Now I understand it. Well, I doubt he’s going to get his way. He always seems to think he’s more important than he really is. Quel Surprize!
Yes, I didn’t think it was poorly stated. I just didn’t understand it.
