Donald Trump barely won Louisianas primary. In fact, he lost the actual primary day turnout. A big win in early voting helped him keep the lead, but it was close. So close, in fact, that for all intents and purposes, it was a draw.
Enter Louisiana politics. Via my colleague streiff:
What is very clear is that if Donald Trump is not awarded the nomination on the first ballot, his bloc of delegates will melt away and his wins are not being capitalized upon because his campaign is essentially incompetent.
You see, when it came down to the actual election of the delegates, Cruz had more support in the room. This gives him an advantage over Trump, and one that plays into the narrative of the anti-Trump crowd: Trump isnt likable enough to actually win. His campaign cant organize well enough to actually get his delegates to the convention, and party leaders dont like the guy enough to follow his lead.
Of course, being the loser he is, Donald Trump responds as only a loser can: he threatens to sue....

If anyone is voting early for Trump, they weren’t going to flip their vote on primary day for another candidate.
I'm not arguing your point, but you stated as a fact that Trump won by 30,000 votes. You backed that up by saying you just looked it up. The next poster states that you were off by a factor of 3. Your defense is "whatever". That kind of behavior doesn't do anything good for your credibility on a forum like this. I think that most Freepers will just disbelieve whatever you post. I know that I will. Please post links to your assertions if you would. Thank you.
“I wont vote for Cruz either”
Then that’s tantamount to allowing Hillary to win. Which means two things.
One: You’d rather cut off your nose to spite your face than
to vote for a conservative.
Two: Whether your a conservative at all is questionable.
VerySadAmerican may very well be a very sad example of an
American. But your right about one thing, no one can make you. Really, who wants to.
Wonder if that’s “The” Neal Boortz being such a boor?
So the voters come second to the "men in the room"? That's tyranny, not democracy. That's why all but one of Cruz' victories have been caucus.
Whatever you say old fart.
red state has excepted money from romney/bush’s Our Principles PAC...
2.5% is not a draw. I despise these RedState scumbags.
Trump doesn’t Sue. He threatens to sue.
But he does get sued.
Well, sometimes he sues. But usually it is just to intimidate and to punish by lawyer costs.
how does it matter? Hillary cruz sanders Kasich are all the same DC stooges bought and paid for lock stock and barrel.
Amanda Tweeted out the Carson quit
Slimy Cruz
as the scandal unfolds, states who have already voted for Cruz are going to be asking for do-overs and female delegates will be flipping from Cruz to Trump just out of the “yuck factor”.
Not representing the voters, the establishment delegates select the establishments’ preference.
Red state is RINO central. Everything they publish is suspect.
“Cruz is a suppurating pilonidal cyst!”
Boy, you must have went all the way up to your elbow to
pull that one out. You know when I was a kid in 4H they
had these gloves they used to palpate cows. I hope you
used one if you intend on ever shaking anyone’s hand again.
No really what is a “suppurating pilonidal cyst”?
I’d look it up myself but it’s not worth it.
Ha ha not everyone will know what that is. I do since I get the cultures on them..
This article just confirms why I will never again vote for a GOP candidate. From the top of the ticket to the bottom.
Yep.
I keep saying it’s about delegates. Trump’s delegates failed to attend a required meeting a month earlier. That meant his delegates had no standing which resulted in Cruz getting an additional eight delegates.
It was linked here on FR. Votes don’t count in primaries. Just delegates. They’re the only votes that count at conventions.
So far, Trump has won a grand total of 30.42% of the votes cast but has been awarded a total of 47.63% of the delegates. It’s not fair!
Oh, right. Those are the rules. Bummer.
Rules are not for Trump. Rules are for the little people.
