BREAKING: Romney’s campaign finance accounts reactivated for 2016 race
Christian News ^ | March 3, 2016

Posted on 03/06/2016 6:04:43 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

New information is surfacing about Mitt Romney and his 2016 plans following the 2012 presidential candidate's nationally-covered speech on Thursday morning.

The former Mass. Governor and Republican nominee for President spoke out against Donald Trump, calling the Republican front-runner a "phony" and "fraud." He urged Republicans to unite behind another candidate, yet declined to indicate which candidate he would be supporting.

An in-depth look at Romney's campaign finance activity, however, shows that the former candidate may be gearing up to take another shot at the White House.

In late January and early February of 2016, Romney's campaign finance entities, which by law are subject to FEC regulations, were both reactivated with amended campaign statements.

FEC records indicate that Romney's former campaign committee, Romney for President, and Romney's affiliated PAC, Romney Victory Fund, were both reactivated earlier this year, making them legally able to solicit donations and organize for his presidential campaign.

The above FEC documents can be found on the FEC websites here and here.

The Christian Times Newspaper spoke with several campaign finance professionals and campaign finance attorneys to further understand this move.

One told us that Romney "would only be making these changes" if he in fact "was going to run for President in 2016."

Another, a former McCain finance staffer indicated that this evidence shows "without a doubt" that Romney has plans to run as a Republican this year.

In the days and weeks following Romney's Trump-bashing, it will be interesting to see whether or not the 2012 candidate makes any further moves to run in 2016.

Since wallace & the fox news neck tie crew had all the power point displays pre produced to “fact check” trump at last week’s debate, why didn’t wallace stick these FEC filings under mitt’s nose today when he asked him if he was planning on running for president???

I’m 100% for Trump but this desperate Romney play worries me. They are going to try to steal it from Trump. It feels like an episode of the Twilight Zone. The integrity of our voting process is at stake. This could all lead to civil unrest which could lead to more Hussein rule. The GOP is putting the republic in great peril.

"He couldn’t beat Obama, but he can beat Trump."

We'll smack Romney down so hard his grandkids will have concussions. Romney's campaign will die a quick and embarrassing death. He's the GOPe's answer to Trump. We'll destroy both Romney AND the GOPe, and have fun doing it.

Seriously- this is the best that the GOPe can counter us with? They honestly think that Romney is a sufficient answer to our anger? Romney- and the GOPe's act of shoving him down conservative throats in 2012- is one big reason why we are angry in the first place.

This is nothing but a GOPe plan to sandbag the election and allow Hillary to win. They're nothing but a bunch of cowards, traitors, and backstabbers.

We need to make a point of completely obliterating Romney and making him run crying to mommy in short order. We'll show the GOPe what we think of them and their lame-ass offering.

I see The weasel Paul Ryan as his running mate. I dislike that clown more than even Mitt. No way I would vote for those idiots.

I would let Hillary have it. It would be time to start over again because this nation is close to folding as it is.

The Trump and Cruz camps both need to come out and denounce this in the strongest way possible. They need to both be relentless in exposing Mitt Romney and the GOPe for what they are about to try and do!

We don’t need a MOVEMENT. MOVEMENTS are for the uninformed. People who feel the need to be part of something. I support Cruz because I think he’ll make a better president that the others, not because I want to be part of a movement.

In my opinion, once it was clear that Trump had a shot, that was always the plan. But what I did not expect is that cruz would play along. But then again, if cruz is willing to lie to voters the way he did in Texas about his Canadian citizenship, pretty much anything is is possible with him.
