New information is surfacing about Mitt Romney and his 2016 plans following the 2012 presidential candidate's nationally-covered speech on Thursday morning.
The former Mass. Governor and Republican nominee for President spoke out against Donald Trump, calling the Republican front-runner a "phony" and "fraud." He urged Republicans to unite behind another candidate, yet declined to indicate which candidate he would be supporting.
An in-depth look at Romney's campaign finance activity, however, shows that the former candidate may be gearing up to take another shot at the White House.
In late January and early February of 2016, Romney's campaign finance entities, which by law are subject to FEC regulations, were both reactivated with amended campaign statements.
FEC records indicate that Romney's former campaign committee, Romney for President, and Romney's affiliated PAC, Romney Victory Fund, were both reactivated earlier this year, making them legally able to solicit donations and organize for his presidential campaign.

The Christian Times Newspaper spoke with several campaign finance professionals and campaign finance attorneys to further understand this move.
One told us that Romney "would only be making these changes" if he in fact "was going to run for President in 2016."
Another, a former McCain finance staffer indicated that this evidence shows "without a doubt" that Romney has plans to run as a Republican this year.
In the days and weeks following Romney's Trump-bashing, it will be interesting to see whether or not the 2012 candidate makes any further moves to run in 2016.

They were. There were also leaders who did things before they got into government. Adams was a teacher before he became a lawyer. Lincoln ran a store for a time, was a postmaster & county surveyor before becoming a lawyer.
Unlike the lawyers who become politicians today, Adams & Lincoln worked outside of gov’t before they ever entered into it. Gave them a perspective lawyer/politicians don’t seem to have a clue about, IMO.
Might go? It already has. The GOP-E has declared war. It's time we give it to them.

I doubt it. The paperwork with Ryan’s name on it is just a technicality. They won’t pull RINO Ryan from the House. He’s to useful to them there. I’ll stick with my original thoughts that it’s prolly Romney/Rubio.
