Ted Cruz Just Unloaded on Donald Trump
Red State ^ | January 1, 2016 | Leon H. Wolf

Posted on 01/12/2016 1:07:36 PM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

It appears that the bromance between Ted Cruz and Donald Trump is probably over for good. I mean, it was one thing to see Donald Trump openly attacking Cruz for days on end. We've seen that before, and never before had Cruz taken the bait. It appears that this method of dealing with Trump has finally reached its end in the Cruz campaign.

(CRUZ): >>>I will say that it's more than a little strange to see Donald relying on as authoritative a liberal, left-wing, judicial activist Harvard Law professor who is a huge Hillary supporter (Ed. note - Laurence Tribe). It starts to make you think, "Gosh, why are some of Hillary's strongest supporters backing Trump?" You know, the last couple of elections the Democrats have gotten the nominee they wanted to run against in the general election. It seems the Hillary folks are very eager to support Donald Trump and the attacks that are being tossed my direction.<<<

Welcome to the party, Ted Cruz. Better late than never to call Trump what he is.

I, for one, am glad that the prominent conservative personalities who have been pretending Trump is a conservative and talking about him positively to bolster their ratings, will finally have to choose between their wallet and their ideology (and credibility) in this battle between Trump and Cruz. It's been a long time coming.

"He had a crazy policy of self deportation which was maniacal," Trump says. "It sounded as bad as it was, and he lost all of the Latino vote," Trump notes. "He lost the Asian vote. He lost everybody who is inspired to come into this country." The GOP has to develop a comprehensive policy "to take care of this incredible problem that we have with respect to immigration, with respect to people wanting to be wonderful productive citizens of this country,? Trump says.

Yup, Trump was and still is for amnesty.

The whole GOP is RINO, or hadn’t you noticed?

I had—that’s why I am not a Republican.

The issue was money to Dems and the GOP. The GOP received more than twice that of the Dems.

Putting the facts in context.

Which is getting rarer and rarer around there lately.

trisham, you asked if VDK was serious about a Cruz supporter demanding that JR stop Trump supporters from posting on FR.

I'll confirm; I read such a post yesterday. It was pretty amazing, considering the verbal abuse we've endured from more than a handful of Cruz supporters.

“If” if... true.

Is it fake or is it real? Yes or no. Answer the question.

I accept the fact that I’ll never see the perfect candidate, but Cruz is close enough for me.

Yes, Cruz is good, no doubt and yes there is risk with a wild card like Trump.

Whoever wins, I'm pretty sure we can predict the future:

Trump wins he cuts deals to get the job done and conservatives say "SEE!!! I told you he was a RINO".

Cruz wins and has to cut deals to get the job done and conservatives say "He's just another RINO...."

Lolz

Of course you would. You like slimy Televangelist car salesmen.
Supporters of the biggest political fraud this millennium should stay away from slimy, Televangelist(Trump Cult) and car salesman.

so considered citizen is not a citizen... and that depends on what is is...

there is nothing in statute sitting up 3 type of citizen

The only definition ever in law for NBC is 1790. No law after it has supplanted that definition.

The impressment may or may not be on point but it is NOT in the statute.

I don’t get it. As conservatives we occasionally manage to elect one of our own to a federal seat, then that person is immediately redefined as an “insider”. Why is that?

I think the longer they are in office, the more tainted they become.

Term limits for ALL!

So you call on the 1790 law to both bolster and refute your argument ?

the Father only part you like and the rest is out with the trash..

I'm shocked that anyone would do something like that. Yes, it's gotten ugly here, but I had hoped that we'd not reached that point. At one time, and not very long ago, I supported Cruz. Then, I supported Cruz and Trump. Then I was so put off by the animosity of many Cruz supporters that I had to wonder why they were so hostile. I decided that I didn't have anything in common with them, and wanted nothing to do with them.

OK, Trump has been donating to ‘RATS and RINOs. Has he been donating directly to CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS (they exist whether you know that or not)? You know, like Ted Cruz or Jeff Sessions? Has he donated to CONSERVATIVE ORGANIZATIONS (such as the Senate Conservatives Fund?

If he has, he sure has been doing it Quietly.

So you call on the 1790 law

When did I ever do that? I was responding to people who raised it, claiming that it makes Ted Cruz a natural born citizen. It does no such thing.

Most Cruz supporters can read and decide that issue for themselves. Nobody but a candidate would have standing in court to bring a suit on Cruz's eligibility. If Trump believes there is an issue, which completely contradicts his position on the matter this summer, he should take it to court. I just go by the definition in the 1790 Naturalization Act which was written by the same men who wrote the Constitution and signed into law by George Washington:

The Act also establishes the United States citizenship of certain children of citizens, born abroad, without the need for naturalization: "the children of citizens of the United States that may be born beyond Sea, or out of the limits of the United States, shall be considered as natural born Citizens".

I’m not his accountant. Perhaps he has.

I know he has criticized Rove for basically wasting his (Trump’s)money on the 2012 cycle as the Rove PAC, American Crossroads, had piss poor results.

so considered citizen is not a citizen

Citizenship does not equal Natural Born Citizen. These are entirely different concepts, hence why the Founding Fathers even differentiated the two, clearly setting up a difference between a citizen and a natural born citizen when grandfathering all citizen-Americans for the purpose of the Presidency.

"No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident..."

The only definition ever in law for NBC is 1790

This was not a definition, but an extension under Congress's power to make rules of naturalization (which, by definition, has nothing to do with Natural Born citizenship!) to treat children of overseas Americans "as if" they were natural born, IOW, a legal fiction, without actually being clear that they are well and truly natural born and eligible to be President. The definition of natural born utilized by the founding fathers according to the principles of natural law required the child to be born under US land and to have parents who are citizens.

Cruz is VP under him and then Cruz gets the driver’s seat in 2020..

If Trump or Cruz are the next president and are able to enact any portions of their immigration proposals, the media is going to go into full melt down mode and roll out the litany of disheveled families.

It will make for a very interesting 4 years (Hopefully, 8).
