Because Cruz is an Evangelical Protestant while Rubio is a Catholic, Carson is a Seventh Day Adventist, and Trump is a functional atheist who suddenly remembered he was raised a nominal Christian a few weeks ago?

Santorum was a Catholic when he got the nod.

LOL
Vander Plaats was a bit more diplomatic about it.

Van der Putz endorsed Santorum in 2012, and it was critical to Rick securing the GOP nomination. Oh wait...
(Yep, it means absolutely nothing)

That's a very good point, because Huckabee was in the running too then, wasn't he?
Anyway, the link paywalls me, so now I can't find out the reporter's answer.

I voted for Santorum last time. The race was down to Romney, Santorum and Gingrich by the time the race rolled around and Gingrich was effectively out of it by then.

No, I’m wrong. Perry and Bachman were the Evangelicals in 2012.

This is a very big deal in Iowa. The winner of Iowa doesn’t necessarily become the nominee, but the losers usually quickly drop out.

Why lie? Trump is not very religious but he’s no atheist. He was raised a Presbyterian. Being a lousy churchgoer does not an atheist make.

Van der Putz endorsed Santorum in 2012, and it was critical to Rick securing the GOP nomination. Oh wait...Santorum won Iowa in 2012. Iowa is important because it has picked the GOP nominee two out of the last four times.
I think Cruz at this point would take those odds.

Trump’s expressed views so completely plasticise the gospel that he effectively is an atheist.

And you know this beyond a doubt...........?
I know many CINO's.....
Don't attend church.
Don't tithe.
Don't pray.
Don't mention God.
Don't do a lot of things you might think...a Christian might do.
I've been there.....I know.

Donât you ever tire of being a worthless, empty troll? Not a troll. I just think Iowa is a joke, and Vander Putz is a bigger joke, having had dealings with him in the past. I have been saying this for the past 3 cycles here on FR. Iowa has no business having such an outsized influence on the presidential race.
