Attending Congressman Jeff Duncan's 5th. annual Faith and Values BBQ/fund raiser this evening.Scheduled speakers include: Dr. Ben Carson,
Scott Walker, and my personal favourite; Sen. Ted Cruz. I more than likely will not receive any one-on-one time with these gentlemen but if given the chance to ask any or all of these a question,
I respectfully ask my much more learned FReeper colleges what best and poignant question(s) to ask?
Its going to be a tough job for whoever gets it and I want a man who will do it right and work to expand our freedoms rather than those of the office.
The constitution is a set of strict rules imposed on government and I want to elect a man who can follow them.
I would ask Dr. Carson specifically why he is the best choice to be president than any of the other candidates running?
Ask them if there are any Republican candidates who they consider dangerous on the issue of Obama Care....
Ask, “Specfically, what federal agencies do you want to completely eliminate?”
I second getting more on H1B from Cruz.
Do you plan to reduce the power of the presidency? If so, how? If not, why not?
I would want to ask why no one will file to impeach obama, an answer of it will not fly is not an answer, do it anyway, they were willing to make a halfassed attempt to repeal obamacare some 46 times, they can try to impeach obama at least once, twice or 50 times.
Bring them Tootsie Pops- demand the answer.
What would they do about the Federal Reserve, whose QE has been a disaster? Stock market no longer has price discovery.
Dr. Bliss who treated Lincoln and killed Garfield actually did have the first name Doctor. Dr. Doctor Bliss.
So here are my questions:
1. Why arent people on welfare between the ages of 18 and 68, the age group that is commonly referred to as The Work Force, counted in the unemployment numbers?
2. When did the USA start considering those on welfare as part of the work force?
3. What occupation is welfare recipient classified in, I cannot find a job classification, on the tax forms, for welfare recipient?
Who was the worst President and why?
Ask Cruz what happened to the abolish IRS talk??
The H1-B visa program is being abused in the high-tech industry, with many large consulting companies (IBM, KPMG, Accenture, etc.) claiming that they can’t find qualified Americans and bringing over (in many cases) marginally skilled talent from India and other foreign countries.
Would you be in favor of modifying the H-1B program for high-tech workers so that a company that brings over a worker (or takes over the sponsorship of the visa) has to immediately pay $150,000 per year for that worker, the money to be used as scholarships for US citizens in a state university in one of the STEM majors. And the company must also purchase insurance that will continue to pay $150,000 per year if the worker does not leave when the visa expires.
Then let’s see if those same companies don’t suddenly find that there are American’s that can do those jobs.
Did you perchance mean STOP considering those on welfare as part of the work force? Or am I going wrong?
Next question to ask:
Many of the high-tech jobs that have gone overseas involve data storage/data processing (and even ‘help-desk’ jobs) where the financial and personal info of US citizens is at-risk to identity thieves.
Could we enact legislation that ensures that our private and financial data is kept local, thus bringing these high-tech/finance jobs back to our own country?
who is your favorite economist and philosopher?
To Sen Cruz: “You have said, ‘Secure the border, then discuss illegals already in this country.’ What specific solution steps would you like to see come out of those discussions?”
LOL!!
Yes I would like a detailed answer from Cruz on why he wants to increase the H1-B visas. I don’t think I have heard him address it except that its good for America which I’m not convinced of.
