When Reagan articulated the 11th Commandment it didnt mean thou shalt not ever disagree with another Republican, Cruz said. He didnt offer specific examples of where he disagreed with Trump. He did say though that he would focus on substance and policy when criticizing his GOP primary rivals.
Trump has surged to the top of the field in polls even as hes received a heavy backlash for saying that Mexico is sending drugs and rapists to the United States through illegal immigration. Trump has also staked out a hard-right position on so-called sanctuary cities, where officials dont detain potential illegal immigrants unless other requirements are also met.
The comments by Cruz illustrate his strategy of running as an unapologetic conservative presidential candidate whos eager to portray the rest of the field as squishy on issues important to primary voters.
In the same interview, the Texas senator left little wiggle room on his position on the environment and global warming.
Listen, facts matter, if you look to the satellite data in the last 18 years, theres been zero recorded warming, Cruz said. Now the global warming alarmists, thats a problem for their theories. Their computer model show massive warming. The satellite says it aint happening.
Asked if global warming was real, Cruz stopped just short of saying no.
Im saying the data and facts dont support it, Cruz said.
Cruz looking better and better. Still there is that pesky Ivy League education. I am still leery of that.
An excellent team to turn this mess around!
Cruz is a class act. The Koch’s are probably peed he was so honest about at their Rino party.
I definitely believe Cruz is shooting for VP under Trump at this point.
I just hope Trump doesn’t break our hearts and cave on the issues once the election nears (or once elected).
At this point it can’t hurt to stay on the Good Side of The Donald.
Trump/Cruz.
Yeeesss. Cruz has a wiser, calmer way of saying things and would be great mouthpiece for the administration. He will make a positive, constructive leader. We really need Cruz up there with Trump.
Studying him for the primary....
Ted Cruz, Donald Trump, Sarah Palin..that is my dream team right there
Trump is the swizzle. Cruz is the cocktail.
Ted Cruz....a class act...
Somehow, I still can’t believe that Trump is serious.
OTOH, there seems to be some sort of understanding between Trump and Cruz. That gives me hope that Trump has some sort of plan—whether he goes for the WH or not—for the good of the country.
