Republican presidential candidate and Texas Senator Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) denounced the US opening an embassy in Cuba wondering How sad is it that under the Obama administration the United States is going to have an embassy in Havana before we have an embassy in Jerusalem? on Wednesdays Hugh Hewitt Show.
Cruz said, I think this is a serious mistake. Its a manifestation of the pattern of weakness and appeasement towards our enemies that has characterized the Obama-Clinton foreign policy. Its the same pattern that occurred that is occurring with regard to Russia, with regard to Iran, and its a very dangerous pattern. How sad is it that under the Obama administration the United States is going to have an embassy in Havana before we have an embassy in Jerusalem, that this administration will be friendlier to a Communist dictator who hates America and seeks to undermine our nation, than it is willing to stand with our close friend and ally, the nation of Israel? I think its wrong.
Cruz continued, The very first truth-teller featured in the book is a gentleman named Guillermo Farinas. He was a Cuban dissident. He used to be a member of Castros army. He was a Communist. In fact, his nickname was El Coco. And he describes how he went to the Soviet Union and somehow got his hand on a copy of George Orwells Animal Farm. And it touched him powerfully, and he became a dissident....

Cruz says it like it is.
Our enemies are laughing at us because we have a president dead set on the destruction of America.
Maybe Obama plans to take over from the Castros when he’s told to move out of the White House
Work with the House to impeach him?
No.
Work with the House to expose him?
No.
Work with the House to block or remove ObamaCARE
and ObamaTRADE.
Nope. not that either.
The GOP is all talk. ALL the time.
I did suggest that he move there on his twitter feed today.
Wow...
That really is a stark illustration of how far down the wrong road we have truly traveled :(
“How sad is it that under the Obama administration the United States is going to have an embassy in Havana before we have an embassy in Jerusalem.”
In a saner world, that one would be “right between the horns”, as they say.
As it is, who knows? I like to think there are still enough adults in the room for the public to see this is a terrible idea of Obama’s (one of many), but I can take nothing for granted anymore.
The sad part is the fact that we were so much closer to real resolution of many of these issues under a very flawed but able Bush.
Russia at least respected us. Libya was basically tamed, Syria was relatively quiet. Even Iran was at least cautious.
Today the whole mideast is in chaos. Egypt is on the right side of things in spite of Obama. Jordan has a rational king who knows Obama won’t be there forever. African butcher Robert Mugabe is openly laughing at Obama ovder gay marriage.
The real gut punch wont come until after King Putt is gone.
No use wasting effort when he is doing a better job than the terrorists can right now.
On 5 December 1949, Israel’s first Prime Minister, David Ben-Gurion, proclaimed Jerusalem as Israel’s capital,[215] and since then all branches of the Israeli governmentlegislative, judicial, and executivehave resided there, except for the Ministry of Defense, which is located at HaKirya in Tel Aviv.[216] At the time of the proclamation, Jerusalem was divided between Israel and Jordan and thus only West Jerusalem was proclaimed Israel’s capital.
In July 1980, Israel passed the Jerusalem Law as Basic Law. The law declared Jerusalem the “complete and united” capital of Israel.[217]

Or in other words, ya it’s you.
Bush was a good leader. He does have my respect.
Sadly his skills as a politician led us to Obama, and I do believe Bush was too liberal domestically.
W. was a good man, flawed, but good.
But man, we have swerved so hard off the road and into the woods. Holy smoke things look really, really bad now.
Engaging Cuba with business, people, and our ideas will create more change than 50 years of failed isolation accomplished.
