US has an embassy in Tel Aviv which is the capital
of Israel and Daniel Shapiro is our ambassador.
How did that fact go missing ? Or is it me?

On 5 December 1949, Israel’s first Prime Minister, David Ben-Gurion, proclaimed Jerusalem as Israel’s capital,[215] and since then all branches of the Israeli government—legislative, judicial, and executive—have resided there, except for the Ministry of Defense, which is located at HaKirya in Tel Aviv.[216] At the time of the proclamation, Jerusalem was divided between Israel and Jordan and thus only West Jerusalem was proclaimed Israel’s capital.
In July 1980, Israel passed the Jerusalem Law as Basic Law. The law declared Jerusalem the “complete and united” capital of Israel.[217]

Inconvenient details. Same with the additional one that both Republican and Democratic presidents have not moved the embassy or recognized Jerusalem as the capital of the Israel because it is NOT IN OUR INTEREST to do so.
